Frigidaire Washer Dryer Combo Drum Glide - White

This white drum glide is used in a clothes dryer to ensure the front of the dryer drum is supported as it does rotations. *Please note: these are sold individually, however there are two of these in your appliance. We recommend that these be replaced at the same time, this allows for optimal performance and ensures they wear evenly. Each drum glide is approximately 33 inches in length. If the following symptoms occur, consider replacing the drum guide as a solution: dryer is noisy, will not tumble, or leaves marks on clothes. Remember to unplug the power source to the dryer before installing this part. Refer to the diagram provided by the manufacturer for further instructions and guidance.

Frigidaire Washer Dryer Combo Drum Vane
I removed the one phillips screw that secures the drum, but found the vane did not slide toward the front as I'd read it should. Nor was I able to squeeze the base to release it. I ended up using a rubber mallet and screwdriver to spring the snaps at the bottom of the vane. Once I had two of these on the same side out, I was able to slide the vane forward and remove it. Turns out there was a metal tab, part of the drum, bent into the vane so it couldn't slide for removal. I bent this tab down even with the drum surface, and the new vane slid in easily. Read more...

Followup: The dryer part of this washer-dryer combo is back online. At first, the dryer made a squealing noise, but eventually quieted down. At present, the drum replacement seems to be just fine. It cost about $215, and, except for a few cuts due to sharp-edged metal, a dropped clip that disappeared into the depths of the bottom of the washer, it is actually REPAIRED. I could have used more specific help, but, all in all, it has been pretty easy, and pretty effective. Read more...

The rim that supports the front of the drum had worn through, due to my failure to replace the glide styrips in time.
There are only three screws holding the drum in. However, to get it out I had to remove the front panels, and the top of the dryer part of the washer-dryer combo. The drum came out easily, but getting the new one in was pretty hard. I had to guess how the drive belt was routed around the motor pulley and idler pulley, since I couldn't see it until I'd removed the drum. Since the new drum wasn't exactly like the old one, I had to remove the glide strip from the front panel to get it to fit. At present, the unit is not completely reassembled, so I can't say I've been entirely successful. Tomorrow, I will put it back together, cross my fingers, and switch it on. Old Dryer drum veins degraded and broke down.
I opened the top of the dryer to gain access to the outside of the drum. Then I removed the screws holding the old drum veins in using the electric drill with the nut driver attachment. Then I positioned the new veins in place on the inside of the drum and replaced the screws from the outside of the drum to hold the veins in place.
