This a a genuine OEM replacement check valve for your small engine. It is also known as a fuel tank vent. You may need to replace this part if you are noticing debris or dirty oil in the reservoir. Make sure the engine is cool before you begin this repair, and remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from starting up.

Chainsaw Fuel Tank Vent This is a genuine Husqvarna, Poulan, and Jonsered replacement part used in compatible chainsaws. The fuel tank vent attaches to the crankcase and helps air to flow into the tank. No tools should be needed when replacing this part. It may become broken and will need to be replaced. This part is available as an individual replacement part.

Chainsaw Vent Assembly This is an original Echo replacement part manufactured for use with outdoor power equipment. The vent assembly is used like a one-way valve to allow air into a fuel or oil tank to prevent a vacuum within the tank. This vent assembly is sold individually.

Chainsaw Vent Assy. This is a genuine replacement part manufactured for use with outdoor power equipment. The fuel vent is used to allow air into the tank while not allowing air or fuel out. As fuel in the tank is drained to the carburetor air needs to take its place otherwise a vacuum would occur inside the tank prohibiting fuel from draining to the carburetor. The vent assembly is just pressed into the slot on the tank, but a screwdriver may be needed to remove the housing. This vent assembly is sold individually.

The part attaches to the fuel line grommet on the tank. Installation is rated as "Easy" by customers and requires pliers. If broken from general wear/fatigue, the engine will be starved of fuel and will struggle to run or not run at all. If this happens, it should be replaced. The vent is white and plastic. The rubber damper connects to the engine case and is used to reduce vibration to ease the use of the saw.
