Loose agitator
Brand new more or less GE washer. For some reason the agitator retaining screw sheared off. Part Select had the diagram to ID the part and had it in stock. Repair was pretty straight forward for someone with a little knowhow. But it was the right part and shipment was really fast.

Bolt broke in half
Removed the center agitator to clean it - had black mold and pink soap scum buildup underneath that you couldn't see or clean without taking it apart. Removed the bolt with ease. Upon tightening the bolt back in place, the bolt sheared in half, leaving the lower half threaded in place and the head in the socket. Had to use a drill bit and
... Read more drill out the lower half of the bolt completely. Ordered the replacement bolt and reassembled everything in less than 5 minutes. Replacement part was perfect - hopefully it lasts longer than the original bolt.

Is the 1/4 20 screw that holds the agitator a flat head (as compared to a Phillips head)?

My agitator is floating up off--what do I need to do? Only lil over a year old...
