How does this drip tray attach/detach?
Do I have to remove the condenser (radiator looking thing)?
For model number WRF989SDAH02
Hello Kevin, thank you for contacting us. The evaporator drip pan is located in the fresh food section underneath the evaporator coil behind the cover panel. To replace the drip pan, we need to remove both french doors for that purpose. Take off the covers on both sides and then both hinges that hold the hinge cover and lift it up. Disconnect the plug and the waterline. Lift it up and pull it apart. Secure the door, lift up on the hinge slightly and remove the door. Repeat all the procedures to remove the cover plate. Remove shelves from the door, open the door slightly and take it off the bottom hinge. Remove all shelves. Pull out both crisper drawers. Remove the glass shelf and lift it up and pull it out. Remove support frame by lifting the front end and then pulling it out. Remove chiller container. Now remove pantry drawers, pull out both pantry drawers halfway. Remove screws to pull up the pantry drawer. Remove pantry doors attached to the rails, push this hook out and lift up on the door. Push in the rails out of the way before removing the door. On the left side door, take out the box, disconnect the plug, slide the box to release and pull out the box. Remove light cover covering the plug for lights. Remove crisper base, push it in and unlock the tab. Lift up the crisper drawers base. Remove cover, unplug, pull it out and press on the legging tab and pull it apart. Open the freezer and remove the mullion heater plate, disconnect the plug by pressing down and locking the tab. Close the freezer door to lift and remove the whole bar. Remove this horizontal mullion bar. It has clips underneath each side. Unclip it and slide out the mullion bar. On the left side, repeat the procedure, open the clip and slide that bar out. Remove central support assembly, lift up slightly and slide it out and lift it up and remove it. Remove limiter bar, slide it to the left so it will go inside the bracket to clear the right end. Open the filter cover by pushing it up. Take out the filter, push it in and turn it counterclockwise. Remove screws that hold the panel and remove the LED. Now remove the panel. Take out the air towel to remove the evaporator cover. Remove the cover. Remove screw and disengage drip pan. From the bottom lift up the drip hole and bend the copper line. Slide it back and do the same thing on the opposite side. Repeat this procedure on the left side. Slide it back to slide the hole drip in back. Remove the old evaporator drip pan. Follow the same procedure backward to install new drip pan. Glad to be of assistance!
