When I turn and hold my start switch for 2 seconds to start a load to dry, the dryer does not start but I hear a ticking noise from the timer mechanism. Does this mean the timer mechanism is bad or that it is not starting because of a sensor in an incorrect state? How do I confirm if the timer is bad before plunking down 1/2 the cost of a new dryer? It would have been nice if your videos showed that taking off the front control panel exposed a bracket holding a paper with instructions and a wiring diagram.
For model number DBR453EADW
Hello Nia, Thank you for the question. If the timer is clicking that normally means it is working and starting to go through the cycles. This sounds more like an issue with the Start Switch,PartSelect Number PS268305. You can test the switches with a Multi Meter to check for continuity to see if it is working properly. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
