My washer's water level dial is broken - the water level stays the same no matter what level I set it at. The dial does not recognize the "reset" portion of the settings. I would like to fix this myself. What part do I need?

Hello Chris,
Thanks for your question. The water level pressure switch is a common cause for that issue. We would recommend replacing it.
I hope this helps.

I wrote in this week about the water level stopping at a medium level, no more no less. It was suggested that i purchase a pressure switch. Will replacing that fix the problem of the water level dial and that i can't 'reset' the level? I added some clothes to a load of laundry and couldn't reset the machine to allow more water to flow into the tub. (i have not replaced the switch) thanks so much!

Hi Chris,
Thank you for your inquiry. To verify if the pressure switch will fix the issue you will need to check it with a multimeter. If the part is working correctly, there are some other parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the water inlet valve, the water pressure switch hose, the drain pump and the lid switch. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My GE top loader washing machine isn't going on the final spin cycle. I opened the front cover, took the hose off the base of the machine on the far left, blew in it several times to trip the pressure switch but that didn't work in making it on the final spin cycle even with it turned to "spin cycle". I think i need a new switch. Is that possible? If so which is the correct switch. Thanks much Andy

Hi Andy, Thank you for your question. The pressure switch actually measures how much water is inside of your appliance as it is filling and is the part that tells the machine when to stop filling with water. It actually sounds like you may need to check your lid lock switch. That part is the part that would or would not allow your appliance to go into the spin cycling. If it believes that you lid is open, it will not let your appliance go into the spin cycle. The lid lock switch is a safety device to prevent the machine from going into the spin cycle while the lid is open. I would suggest testing that part to see if it is working correctly, you should be able to test that with a multi meter. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Not sure that my washer size load selector is functioning properly. It seems that it will not fill past a medium size load. I did buy this washing machine used, What's told it works.... And it does but it seems to me that the knob just freely spins around and doesn't necessarily select the correct size......
What part do I need to make Sure that my Load size capacity button Is working properly??
Is it the pressure Indicator switch. Or something else....?
