My washer won’t turn on. There’s no blown fuse & it’s plugged in.The knob on right, which selects hot, warm & cold cycles, seems to be stripped of it’s ability to catch on whatever it needs to catch on, it can spin loosely & when i push it in or pull it out, it does nothing. The screws holding the cover on are oxidized/corroded & difficult to unscrew. What do you think is the problem with this machine; how can i fix it? I’m in a rental house & the landlord will not replace it, nor fix it. I can’t afford to buy a new washer.
For model number WHDSR209DAWW and Serial: SL158685G
Hi Amy,
Thank you for your question. It sounds like you will either need to replace your entire knob assembly or replace your timer. If it is the shaft that the knobs sits on that is broken, then it is your timer you will need to replace. If it is just your knob spinning, you will need to replace the knob assembly. Good luck with your repair.
