Refrigerator light would not stay on
Removed the 2 screws holding the light bulb shield, then the 4 uolding the metal panel. Unplugged the olw door switch and replaced. reassembled the pieces.
Referencing the info/schematics you have on your website, I unscrewed/unattached top-front panel (carefully), from behind the panel you have to detach the wires (2) from the switch, pushed "in" the switch to remove, put in new switch and attach wires to test BEFORE remounting panel. Tada!! Thank you PartSelect! You saved me at least $80...would have been at least $100 to have a repair person come to the house!
Repair went well,took about five to ten minutes to disconnect the power from the fridge removed the defective switch installed the new one ,reconnected the power,,,and Let there be light and there was light!
both rails on the crispers broke, and the handles were cracked
unscrewed the side rail and rotated it to remove it from the rest of the assembly. Then ran the humidity tape through the new one and screwed it on. put it back in the ref and put the glass back on and the drawers and it was done!
removed the old handles and replace with the new. It was all very simple.
inserted a knife between the switch and the plastic interior in order to pop the switch out. then took off the 2 wires on the old switch put them on the new switch and reinserted the switch into the plastic interior.
Light switch wasn't working.. As I would close the door I would notice our frig light wasn't going off...
I simply removed the old switch by gently pulling down on the old switch with a screwdriver. When it was about half way out I just gently pulled down on the old switch and it popped out... I removed the two connectors attached to the old switch by pulling on the connectors with a pliers...I tried using my fingers but wasn't able to pull the connectors off so I used pliers. It worked perfectly.. When pulling off the old connectors, make sure you attach the new switch to the same tabs on the new switch... It was very easy to do and took under 5 mins.....The light switch works perfect....P.S. You should unplug the frig while making the connection just in case....Safety first....!!!
The light rocker switch wasnt working. I found the part on the web site. It was so easy. I used a screw driver to pop out the old one and pop the new one in. It took 5 min. Thanks!!!
I recently bought an old Amana refrigerator for my garage on CraigsList for 75 bucks. It was in great condition for its age, but was missing the post that supports the fruit and veggie crisper drawers. I did a Google search, quickly found PartSelect, and just as quickly located and ordered the missing part, which was reasonably priced. Removed the old handle, did a little clean-up of the refrigerator door, inserted the new handle and used the old screws to secure it. The fit was perfect.
Recently professionaly replaced gasket was not sealing.
Identified the necessary replacement part on partselect.com, ordered the part and paid less for it than we had paid the national repair company for their replacement part. The part was delivered three days later. It was the correct part -- the national repair company took two tries to do that. It was in perfect shape -- unlike the two parts that we had received from the national repair company. With instructions from the internet, the entire process of installing the gasket took me less than an hour. Now we have a good old refrigerator that is like new. Thanks PartSelect.com!
First I removed the old handle by removing the 3 screws holding it in place. There are 2 on the top and 1 at the side of the door. When I began to put the new handle on it became apparent that the metal frame inside the handle was not aligned perfectly with the old screw holes. The plastic is not even with the door horizontally on the top, but it fits otherwise. Be careful not to over tighten the screws when installing. Pretty easy overall.
