Would a faulty micro switch part # ps7321762 cause the drum to rotate continuously except when the door is open?
For model number DLE4801W
Hi Jack,
Thank you for your question. If the dryer will not shut off, the door switch is a safety feature found in all dryers. It is an on and off type switch that prevents the dryer drum from turning when the door is opened. If the dryer continues to tumble after the door is open the problem is most likely the door switch. In most brands of dryers, the switch is located behind the front panel with the switch button protruding into the door opening. The switch and can be tested with a multi-tester for continuity and it may have two or more terminals. The test should be made between the terminals marked “C” and “NO” and should read infinite ohms when the door is open or when the button is not depressed. This test should only be made with when the dryer is unplugged. You should also check the timer, thermostats and the fuse. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

What do I need to replace if my dryer heats and dries, but at the end of the cycle continues to tumble and will only stop if I open the door, and then eventually it will let me dry again either by letting me reset it , or cleaning the filter, (which this light is on) even if it is clean, I even wiggled the switch that protrudes for the door to stop or start and that worked one time or by magic. I have gone as long as two or three days before it will work with me. I need your help.

My dryer has power running through cord from plug but light does not come on when you open the door and no power when pressing on button.
What Could This Be?
For model number DLE3733U
Hello Josh, thank you for your inquiry. The issue is most probably with the thermal fuse, part number PS3530485. If the thermal fuse has blown, the dryer will not start. Glad to be of assistance!

Dryer shuts off power after successfully completing the cycle. Clothes are dry. Checked power and no issues. Cycle stops when door opens. Can restart a cycle if interrupted. But, at the end of cycle, when the dryer turns off, it won’t turn back on unless I unplug and plug back in. Tried hard reset of dryer and no difference. Troubleshooting suggests power switch is bad. Will this fix it?
