I purchased this washer from craigslist and the knob part number 131264500, is missing/broken off. When I look inside the hole, I see white plastic. Should I remove that before installing the new knob? If so, how should I remove it? Thanks!
For model number FWT445GES1
Hi Debbie, Thank you for the question. Yes, if the white shaft from the old knob broke off and is still on the stem coming from the switch, it will need to be removed in order for the new knob to fit onto the stem. The front control panel will need to be removes to expose the stem. Once you have access to the stem you can remove the plastic by hand or with a pair a pliers. Hope this helps!
