How do I definitely figure out if I have a bad Timer (#131583200) or Speed Control Unit (#131725300)? I've used the Tech Sheet & Schematics to trouble shoot an intermittent problem of the main motor not getting any power. I don't find the issue; put it back together and then it starts working again. The next time I try to use it, the same thing happens again. Everything else is working normally.

Hi Tracy, thank you for the question. The motor control board, part number PS418639, for your unit is a separate circuit board that receives signals from the main control or the timer to activate the drive motor. It controls the drive motor speed as well as the direction for the spin and tumble actions during the cycle. You may need to inspect the board for any visible damage. You can do a continuity test on the board to make sure if it is faulty or not. If it is faulty, you may need to replace it. We hope this sorts out your problem!

Replaced shocks but drum still banging violently , seems quite loose inside.

Hi Carl, thank you for the question. Make sure suspension springs are fine. If this is not the issue, we would recommend replacing the rear drum with bearing, part number PS418071. Good luck with your repair!

how do you remove the top of the washer?

1. Unplug unit.
2. Unscrew 2 nuts holding top in place in rear of unit using phillips head screwdriver.
3.Slide top back and remove.
4. Open door of washer and unscrew 2 screws holding in door lock unit.
5.Pull out unit from the top and install new unit reconnecting the 3 wire connections.
