I would like some trouble shooting tips before purchasing the part. Through web research i have found that the refrigerator may be freezing my food because: Set too low; bad door seal; dusty coils; thermostat bad; sensor bad. Does this sound right to you? Any other trouble shooting tips? My research also states if i turn the thermostat warmer, wait then colder i should hear a click. If not the thermostat may be bad. Sound right to you? Thanks, joe

Hi Joe,
Thank you for your question. Yes, if the freezer is too cold and freezing your food, then the causes you have listed will need to be looked at. If the freezer is too cold, the part that fixes the issue the majority of the time is the bi-metal defrost thermostat. The part number for it is PS11750673. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The fridge and freezer is not cold enough. The compressor and freezer fan is running. I replaced the bimetal defrost thermistor. The freezer coil has frost and is cold only on the top front tube right until it goes into the rest of the coil by where the blades begin. Could the thermostat be the problem?

Hi Eric,
Thank you for your question. If the fresh food and freezer sections of your refrigerator are too warm, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the capacitor, the start relay, the evaporator fan motor and blade, the temperature control and the defrost board. We have included a link that you may reference on how to check these parts and some others as well. Once you have determined the part you need, please feel free to call customer service. We are open 7 days a week and anyone will be happy to assist you. We look forward to hearing from you!
