This part is the door actuator for your dishwasher. It is made of black plastic and is approximately 3 inches long and 3 inches wide at its widest point. The door actuator is found in the control panel, and it releases the door latch when you lift the handle. If your current door actuator is cracked or broken, you may not be able to open your dishwasher door, or the door will not close properly. The dishwasher also may not be able to start, and if this is the case, you will need to replace it. This part is sold individually and is an authentic OEM part.

Dishwasher working again!
My kenmore dishwasher was acting up: it would work a little then stop, the start button light blinking. When I push on the door then press start, it would start to work for a while then stop again. It appeared the door wasn’t locking well: Bought a door actuator and door latch from partselect, replaced them and the machine is back working great, as if new.

Latch broke
I saves the old part to see how it was to be installed. It was very easy. I saved the $50 + dollars for a SERVICE CALL.

The door handle broke inside so that it was all loose and was difficult to close.
Recoved the screws which secured the handle assembly (approx 8). Removed the old parts and screwed home the new parts and replaced the assembly. Worked perfectly.
The hardest thing for me was to decipher the model number as they use '1s' and 'Is' and you can't tell them apart.
Also the part diagrams should have each

The handle on our dishwasher can get stuck when grabbed to open the door. At this point we can still push it back into place and get it to open. I'm not sure what part needs to be replaced? Is it door latch actuator, door handle, door release spring or door latch bracket? Any ideas? Thank you!!
For model number KUDS30IVBL3
Hello Kornelia, thank you for your question. It could be any of those parts. We usually recommend disassembling the control panel and latch to see what the issue is, and order accordingly, or order all the above mentioned parts and return anything that isn't used. Its hard to say what the issue is without seeing what is going on. The most likely issue is the Part Number: PS11745495 handle and the Part Number: PS886319 bracket. I hope this helps!

What does the door actuator do?
Hi Rick,
Thank you for your question. The actuator releases your door latch so that you can open your door when you pull on your handle. Good luck with your repair.

Should I order this latch if: I close the door and push the start button... it flashes. then i apply a little pressure to the door (just below the buttons) and the dishwasher runs. but when i release the pressure, the dishwasher stops and the start button flashes. what do you think?
For model number 66515112K214
Hi Katharine, Thank you for your question. It could be this part. It is a physical part so if you take a look at your actuator and see that it is broken, it would be this part. You may also want to take a quick test of your micro switches as well. You can do that with a multi meter by doing a continuity test. These switches should test 0 ohms to be working. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Left house so pulled handle up to shut off dishwasher. Returned and it would not start. Repair man said i had a broken latch. Ordered it. Not the problem. The switch actuator is not touching the white points. Do you think this is the problem or any suggestions? After two phone calls, the repair man did not come. Trying to do this myself.

Hi Betty,
Thank you for your question. The switch could be the issue. This dishwasher door switch will shut your dishwasher off when the door is opened. There are some other parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the bi-metal fuse, the electronic control board, the heating element, the circulation pump, and the high limit thermostat. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

All the lights are on, I press the normal wash, it starts blinking, I close the door and push start and nothing. The lights for in the middle section has no lights. I've replaced the bi-metal fuse based on all the q&a, but that wasn't the cure. I also just noticed that the soap dispenser did not dispense. The door latch seems to have many components. Is it the actuator? As there's no clicking sound when I engage the door to open or close. It closes fine though. If I have to buy several components for the door latch, all plastic, at $30+ each, I might as well go to dent and scratch and buy a new one. pls help.

Hello Grace, Thank you for the question. Before replacing parts we suggest opening up the panel and checking the parts to the latch for damage. If they are defective it will show visible damage or wear. You can also test the Door Switch, If there is no continuity the part should be replaced. We hope this helps!
clean lite on consol keeps blinking 8 times over an over
For model number du1345xtvq4
Hello Gerard, thank you for the great question. We have found that the clean light blinking eight times means that the dishwasher cannot fill up with water properly. We recommend you check the water pressure and make sure the water tubing is not clogged and make sure the float device in the front right corner of the tub is not stuck in the up position. If the water pressure is moderate and the tubing is not clogged, you will need to replace the water inlet valve, part number PS8760080, to fix the issue. Good luck with this repair!
