Turn table stoped functioning
Troubleshooting process: Using a screw driver I opened the bottom of the unit using a Philips screwdriver and unhooked the drive motor electrical connector. Using a multimeter I checked to ensure power to the motor. This confirmed that the motor is bad and must be replaced.
Repair process: After receiving new motor I removed the old motor and installed the new one using a Philips screwdriver and closed up the bottom cover.
It functioned good as new. Relatively cheap and very easy fix.
First I removed the screws that were underneath the microwave. Once I did that I disconnected the wires to the bulbs and removed the screws that were attached to the holder lamp. replaced the parts and reversed the process. It went really smooth.
The replacement of the light no problem, the reason the light broke; problem. The original was glued in (for transport i think) and simply trying to unscrew it out (in a very tight slot) it broke; be careful or you’ll be buying a new $20 bulb (with shipping and handling).
Unpugged microwave. Removed the screws on the bottom cover of the micorwave. Unpugged drive motor and removed two screws from drive motor. Installed new motor and replaced the bottom cover, plugged in microwave . . . presto!
Installation was just as easy as numerous other customers indicated. Also, your service was as great as many other customers indicted . . . part was recieved in 2 business days. Thank you for great service and website.
Micrwave won't run - turntable turns backwards when door opened...
Most of the effort is simply getting the oven out of the built in enclosure and the sheet metal off. This take about 15 minutes then you have to remove the two screws (not handy location) that hold the door latch/switch assembly so you can remove the switch. I did this BEFORE ordering so I could test the switch (it was charred) and verify the part needed. WATCH OUT - some ovens use a normally open an some a normally closed version of this switch - you have to get the right one. I checked several suppliers that were showing the WRONG switch for my model. PartSelect had it right. Once I received the switch I had it on and the oven installed and running in less than 30 miutes. Working fine since then...
Un screwed the cover but when i tried to remove the bulb it was broken at the base. I disconnected the power and used neddle nosed pliers to remove the base
Ordered through parts.select because GEprice was totally outrageous. Unfortunately, my first order was lost and after 2 weeks I phoned your customer service and Betty was quite helpful. She followed up (as I called on a Saturday am) on Monday and reported to me that the item was lost. She then asked me if I wished to place another order. I did, of course - it arrived in a timely manner - I placed the cooking tray into the microwave and I was in business!!! Thank You Partselect!!!!!
Microwave making really loud noises when operating
This is the second time I've had this problem-once while it was still under warranty and now this time. Quite annoying noise but super easy to fix (just remember to unplug the appliance first!). I used the flashlight to help find the screws as my microwave is installed over the range. My vent motor has also gone out...maybe I'll tackle that next!
I replaced the switch at the bottom per instruction. I had both switches. I think it was the monitor door switch. It works fine now. Thank you Part Select .
Had to pry the front top of mircowave open and bend down and force this carbon filter in on an angle .Had to call several numbers for instructions. Very awkward and ridiculous to put carbon filter in-besides, it should have come with one to start with!!
Use a small screwdriver to depress the flexible clip on the side of the old holder while you wiggle it out of its hole. Gently hammer down the edges of the hole so that the surface is flat. This will make for a tighter fit when you snap the new holder into the hole. Just slide the new piece into position and the job is done.
Took the front panel off, played with the switch while it was plugged in to verify the switch was bad. I actually was able to tweak the switch just right to keep the microwave working while the part was being delivered. When it came it was just removing two small screws and replacing. Very easy.
Removed one screw, slid frame out and removed broken glass. replaced bulb. The hard part was slidding the frame back in place and starting the screw. We were very surprised at the fast delivery of the parts, thank you. The sad part, a few days later the glass broke again. We are trying to get to the people at GE to solve our problem. We feel like that will not happen, we just do not have the time to stay on hold on the phone waiting for someone to solve our problem. Will reorder glass.
