part was just looking old and worn
Really simple just had to remove the old part by simply pulling it out of the socket and then insert the new cartridge. It looks great it was shipped in a matter of days I was surprised to get it so soon.
One burner ,of a 2 burner cartridge, was burned out. I called an appliance dealer. no help. Went on line, typed in Jenn-air cooktopand several choices came up. Clicked on yours, went thru about375 parts. Spotted what I thought was was the right one. Called in. It had three flat prongs and one ro
I lifted the old old cartridge on one end and slid it out. Then I shoved new cartridge in place, tried the burners. Perfect! Saved me from getting a entire new cooktop. Would recommend PartSelect to anyone looking to repair an old stove.
The Model number could no longer be read clearly on the stove electric grill with a down draft vent system, so all I had was the size and looks of the old grease/air filter. I was very happy to come across Parts Select by way of an amazon.com search. Their web site's design and the parts pictures with detailed descriptions made it easy to find exactly what I needed. The grease filter fit perfectly in no time. I have successfully used my cooking grill again.
The lids are fastened to the underside of the unit by rivets....3 to each lid. I used a cordless drill and small drill bit to drill through the rivets to remove the old lids and remains of the rivets. The new lids are easily fastened back using a rivet gun ( about $20 in Lowes) using small 1/8th aluminum rivets. No real problems. 1 thing to note is that the drill bit will pass through the old rivet by about 1/4 inch before it comes up against the upper level of the BBQ floor so do not drill any deeper. The aluminum rivets are easy to drill through and you will easily feel when the rivet is drilled through.
Unplugged grill element and plugged coil element. Install was as easy as was ordering from PartSelect.com. Price and availability plus timely delivery will make me a return customer.
1-Unplugged the old 2 burner element. 2-Plugged in the new element. 3-Elapsed time approx. 10 seconds. 4-It took longer to remove the new element from it's shipping carton than it took to remove the old & install the new.
Nearly 29 year old grill element was broken and not heating properly.
Unplugged and removed the old grill element by hand and installed the replacement element by plugging it into the socket. Tools were not required for this and it took less than five minutes. The new element is great and heats much better than the original did before it broke.
The original grill didn't work well, and I needed 4 eyes to cook on. I received the new module quickly, and had it installled in 20 seconds. Immediate heat and good looks. It really transfors this old range!! Thanks!!
Lifted out and unplugged grill. Plugged in and put in place new module. I tested it right then and it worked great!
First of all the part arrived a day and a half after ordering which we thought was remarkable. We unplugged the griddle unit and plugged in the cartridge with two burners. It is beautiful.
Simply unpluged the old cartridges and plugged in the new ones, it could not have been easier. My 18 year old cooktop looks brand new. My old cartridges were black and the new ones are stainless, but, the look is good, since most new appliances are now stainless. The best part is that it cost less than half of what a new cooktop would have cost plus all of the mess that would have been made tearing out the old one and installing a new one. Thanks PartSelect, A Very Satisfied Customer.
The 15-year-old Jen-Air stove started smelling really bad. I thought it was a dead animal stuck in the exhaust tube which runs under the floor to the outside. I flushed it out with clorine bleach, but it was still bad. It turned out to the be the grease filter. I washed it every week in the diswasher, but it just was not enough to get it clean enough. Finally, the grease went rancid and smelled really bad. This "repair" took about 30 seconds.
