Freezer cold. Fridge warm
Exposed evaporator and fan.Turned refer back on. Evaporator started to get cold but fan did not run. Removed fan and applied 115 volts. Fan did not run. Installed new fan kit. Old refer works as good as new. Vary easy job. I almost bought a new refer. Glad I didn't. Probably saved myself $500+ Shopped several sites on internet. Other sites wanted about the same price for motor only and 15-20 bucks more for the fan. Vary pleased that I found this company to buy this part. Received fan kit in just a few days.
did not remove the doors. did freezer first ,removed inner door planel install gasget on panel and reinstalled. the aloney problem i had was trying to resape the door gasget on the big door. which is still a little out of shape hopeing it will fall in line over time.
refrigerator stopped cooling due to condenser over-heating
Pull refrigerator out to access back, unplug unit and remove the 3 .25" screws cut the power leads to motor and install new with easy to understand instructions provided with new motor. Plug refrigerator back in and enjoy your cold beverages once more. EASIEST REPAIR EVER.
Location of the run capacitor was not as the video described.
It was easy after it was apparent that the run capacitor was plugged into the compressor. This was determined from a parts diagram of the actual model refrigerator. The part was the same but the location on the video was wrong. A large screwdriver was used to unplug the capacitor from the compressor. The temperature range of the refrigerator is still too wide but it's colder.
My amana side to side freezer stoped freezing i found parts select and helped my get a part that by % would be the problemand it worked thanks
I replaced the run capacitor wich is located near the compressor, i first turned power off to fridge than remuved capacitor checked for continuity and the capacitor was the problem thanks
removed upper freezer door, then removed refrig door, laid door on 2 saw horses, removed screws holding old gasket on,removed old gasket, installed new gasket as instructed by the on-line video, used an electric hair dryer to soften up gasket and work out the kinks, remounted he doors and i was done. door is back to sealing properly. the on-line video was very helpful
Fridge was dripping water (condensation), gasket was clearly deteriorated
I did not remove the door from the fridge deciding to replace the gasket while the door was still attached. Next time I will follow their suggestion to remove the door and lay it down. I didn't realize that when you take the screws out (And there are A LOT of screws!) the whole panel comes off the door. It also took a long time to clean the door and panel with years of dirt/mildew to deal with. I had a hard time trying to get the kinks out with a hair dryer, didn't seem to work. Putting the new one on and screwing it back in place was pretty easy (would have been easier if it was laying flat). There are a couple of places where the seal is not perfect because of the kinks, but not going to worry about that.
Eased the putty knife under the edge of the switch housing and pried it off. Pulled two wires off the old terminals and hooked them onto the new one and reinstalled into the refrigerator body.
bulbs were not burnt out. received the new switch in a few days. watch the short video, was good to see how it comes out. used a putty knife to release the defective switch, removed wires put them on the new one and posed the new switch back in. Not bad Part cost $11.00 7 dollars shipping so for 17 bucks it works great. nice to see what is inside the refer!
Motor noise while running and clicking when shutting off
The instruction sheet supplied with the new motor described the steps to take very good. Replaced the rubber grommets for the three motor mounts also. A flashlight or light source was needed or was very helpful.
We looked up the problem online with the model number of the refrigerator. We ordered the part and followed the video installation that was sent with the order and was found online prior to purchasing
Burned out socket, right side of refrigerator compartment.
I was changing a defective bulb and somehow the hot lead for the socket got grounded, and arched. This made the socket defective. I simply took out the defective socket and replaced it with the new one I ordered. Working fine now. PCH
