Door Would Not Close
I stuck a small screw driver under the old switch & it came out really easy. I just unplugged the 2 electrical connectors, and removed the old switch. Installing the new one was just as easy. I am a woman!
I also want to say how FAST PartSelect gets their items to you. It came in ONE day!
Your repair stories are very helpful, I/we would have never known how easy this switch was to replace! Thank you!
Switch that shuts out light when the door closed broke
Removed the screws on the piece holding the switch which is at the front of the ceiling of the refrigerator box. Removed the old switch and replaced it. Very simple repair.
Very easily did the repair -- popped the new door shelf right in the place of the old one! No tools needed, no hardware, easy! The part actually measured 24 3/4 but the replacement part said "26 inches" on website & this was THE replacement part. Put this off for so long--ordered part and recd within 2 days, great!
I started look inside ,disconnected power, and open all possible compartments to see any burned part. Fortunately I fined a small part look like melted and then i went online and make my research .Then i ordered that part and change it.
First I watched the video that provided - extremely helpful - thank you- when the part arrived I removed the drawer and shelf - unscrewed the screw- pushed the slide catches to one side and removed - then I screwed new slide on - pushed to lock in the catches and DONE! That simple - EASY PEESEY!! THANKS SO MUCH FOR VIDEO AND SUPER FAST NEXT DAY SERVICE - AMAZING HOW FAST!! WILL USE ANYTIME I NEED PART AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOUR SITE! TIME- 5 MINUTES TOPS!
Light Switch too loose so no longer triggered by the door.
Googled it on Youtube - unplugged the fridge, used a paint scraper to loosen the old light switch, unplugged it from the electrical source, connected the new switch, replaced the whole unit into the proper location and pushed it firmly into place.
After unplugging the fridge, I took a small flat headed screwdriver and carefully pried off the light switch from the inside, right side of the refrigerator. I disconnected the 2 wires from the switch and replaced it with the new switch and pushed it back into the frame of the fridge. Done !! Very very easy !! Thank you
