The hardest part was taking out original light bulb because screws on shield where hard to unscrew after all this years . The old bulb vent out leaving neck in socket. It took narrow electrical pliers to get neck out .The generic appliance bulb did not fit and had aluminum neck ,not recommended for brass sockets in ovens.Putting new light bulb in was not the problem.
the iron gets red hot but not enough to open the gas valve.
Took the pan out of the bottom of the oven. Took the screws out of the assembly for the iron, disconnect the power wires under the stove and pull out the old iron. Reverse the proceedure but be careful with the new iron, it is very fragile. Connect the wires put the screws back and you are done. Make sure before you start the job that you unplug the appliance !!!!
The repair was quite easy. Remove the two screws and put in the new part. The only problem I had was the hinge sent was the wrong side (but it still worked) and the new hinge had no threads for the screws. I had to tap the holes so that the screws could be used.
I pulled down the wire around the glass cover. . . Released on end of the wire from its holder being careful to not let the glass cover drop. Unscrewed the bulb and replaced with replacement. Easy, easy.
The burner would not light but the ignitor lite up fine.
I found the ignitor was wired in series with the gas valve and wasn't letting enough voltage through to the gas valve to open it. I just unscrewed the ignitor and pulled it out.
After removing the oven shelves, the burner cover came right up. The ignitor was in plain sight, and after removing the screws I pulled it straight out so I could get to the wire nuts. After swapping out the old igniter and sliding the cover over the new ignitor, the new piece slipped back into place in the oven. The screws were put back in, and the burner cover and shelves put back, and the oven works wonderfully again.
Ordered a left & right hinge. Paid considerably more for the left hinge but both hinges were identical when received. Bolt holes in both hinges were not tapped for the bolts which were sent with the hinges. This required a trip to the hardstore to get a tap set. After the bolt holds were tapped there was no problem removing the old hinges and installing the new ones.
Repair was fast and easy 2 screws out 2 screws in. The best thing was I ordered the part Tues. morning and received it on Weds. To extra shipping charge!!! They were just that fast. Awesome Company!! Thanks!!
