Oven wouldn't light
Removed oven door, removed oven floor. Unscrewed skirt with attached igniter and gas tube. Two nut screws hold igniter to burner. Remove old igniter and replace with new, reattach two wires with supplied wire nuts. Replace oven floor and door. Oven lit right up, pizza anyone?
AS YOU DESCRIBED IN YOUR YOU-TUBE VIDEO, THE OVEN IGNITER WOULD GLOW BUT THE OVEN WOULD NOT LIGHT. YOU EXPLAINED THAT THE PROBLEM COULD STILL BE THE IGNITER AND SO I ORDERED A NEW IGNITER AND THEN WATCHED YOUR VIDEO ON HOW TO ACCESS AND REPLACE THE NEW IGNITER AND THAT FIXED THE PROBLEM. I ONLY HAD TO CUT THE OLD WIRES ON THE OLD IGNITER AND MATCH WIRES WITH THE NEW IGNITER USING THE CERAMIC WIRE NUTS SUPPLIED, AND I WAS BACK COOKING AGIN. THANKS.
No Problem, couldn't find them at any local repair facility so I looked on line and found them here, ordered 4 drip pans and the exact replacements came within a few days.
Thank you, Thank you and thank you!!! I couldn't be happier and I save over $200 in repair. My repair was very easy after watching the video. I cut off the wire and ensure that the new one are attached into place. Placed all parts back and boom, the oven starts working a new.
Longer time for oven to preheat. Replacing oven igniter solved my issue
First thing is I looked for videos on how to replace oven igniter to get an idea. Unplug AC cord and turn off gas valve. On my model I was not able to figure out how to remove oven door. You can still work around it without removing. Inside the oven, remove bottom cover. Remove 2 screws located in rear corners. After removing oven bottom cover, next is a burner cover. Remove 2 screws located toward front of oven using a nutdriver or socket. After removing burner cover , you will find oven igniter. Now remove bottom drawer. This is why its a bit difficult for others. Igniter has 2 leads. Laying down on the floor and reaching in to follow-identify where the 2 leads go to. Using same nutdriver or socket remove 2 screws that hold up the igniter. I cut the leads from the base of the old igniter so you will have some slack to work on when you reconnect the wires underneath. Install new igniter, run leads same way.Strip back about 3/8 in. wire, twist leads to proper wires and twist on ceramic wire cap that is provided. Make sure no bare wires are exposed! Now you can test.
Removed 4 burner knobs. Unscrewed 6 phillips head screws on manifold.Pulled back manifold enough to remove switch. Removed the Two wires from switch and hooked them up to the new switch. Slid new switch on to shaft and in reverse order, reasembled manifold, screws and knobs.
Repair was easy. just unscrewed the old handle, holes measured correctly and screwed in the new handle. The only flaw was that it did not come with the two end caps, they have to be bought separately & the handle ends are sharp without them.
Oven would not come on. If it did, it took a long time to heat up.
Removed the broiler compartment door by depressing the slide stops inward and pulling the door off. Turned off the breaker to the oven. Used a nut driver to remove the old ignitor ( 2 screws ). Cut the wires off the old ignitor close to the porclin. Measured the new ignitor wires to match up with the old ignitor wires and cut them. Stripped 3/8 " off ends of newely cut wires of the ignitor and used the supplied wire nuts to secure them together. Replaced the new ignitor with the 2 screws. Turned on the oven and a cooking I went.
The oven would not light and the house smelled like gas.
I removed the oven floor and subfloor. I detached the old ignighter leaving the wires still attached. I then attached the new ignighter and fed each of the two new wires down through the bottom of the oven floor following the same path of the old wires which were still attached. I attached the new wires one at a time to make sure I connected them to the right place. Then, I pulled out the old igniter. I then attached the oven floors and turned the oven on which now works. The tough part is pulling the oven out from the wall to disconnect the power and turn off the gas. I did not remove the oven door.
I found your website fast and easy. I needed replacement drip pans fast, ordered them on-line, and received them within 3 days of ordering. Your parts were the best deal, the least shipping charges, and the picture and description on your website was the best. Thanks.
1 - I unplugged the oven/ stove connection. 2 - Removed 2 screws and lifted it out the floor of the oven. 3 - Removed the nut holding down the flame guard and lifted it out. 4 - Removed 2 screes that held igniter in place. 5 - cut the wires for igniter. 6 - Stripped new wires with the nuts connector. 7 - Installed new igniter with 2 screws. 8 - Put it all back together step 3 & 2. 9 - Plugged in the oven/stove connection. 10 - Turn on the oven and works perfectly. 11 - My wife and daughter happy and ready to bake.
