My son did the repairs it took less than 30 minutes it's an old dryer so glad to be able to get the parts. I do not like the new dryers because of all the pushbuttons thanks so much for the ports
Noisy, screeching, sounded like roller bearings were shot
Watched the video, followed the printed instructions for reminder when necessary. Needed a second person briefly to hold the dryer tub when installing the new belt, and also when removing/replacing the front panel. Beyond that, it was straight forward and relataively easy to do. Solved the noise problems and it dries more evenly now as well. The one thing the instructions don't say is to check the rear canvas seal when the tub is re-inserted into place to assure it doesn't fold back on itself.
Followed the instructions on the video. I was completely impressed because all the pictures on the video matched what I was looking at on the dryer. Very good job!!
Unpluged Dryer Removed the two screws by the lint screen Lifted the top of the dryer up by using a putty knife to push in the locking clips that hold the top down unhooked door wiring switch Removed the front door panel Removed drum Shop vac the unit replaced the worn parts reassembled the unit
got my daughter's boyfriend over.. he is like McEiver.. can fix anything with a bobbypin.... he told me what to order, you delivered it in 2 days.. and the dryer was fixed the next day. All it cost me was a roast beef dinner Much better than that repairman who would have charged a minimum of $100 plus parts... at probably triple your cost...
I watched the video on the websit and it told me and showed me just what to do. Exccelent video, Ordered the repair kit, got it in two days. Job took me about 10 min.
Thanks to the sep by step instructions I got from part select this repair was very simple. The disassembling was relatively easy, my new maintainance kit came the nest day, the machine was already apart and the parts went in without a hitch. THANKYOU
Solution: assy, idler lever (#37001287) the trick was to remove the top cover as there are no exposed screws 1. Insert a putting knife in the middle of the gap between the top cover and the front panel. Slide the putty knife to the left and then right. When you hit something, it is a clip. Use the putty knife to depress the 2 locking clips. Lift up the top cover. 2. Remove the front panel ( 2 screws, on each side and some electrical spade connectors) 3. Remove the blower duct (3 screws from inside the drum) 4. Remove the blower panel (9-screws). Set aside. 5. Remove belt tension from idler-assy 6. Disconnect motor harness connector from motor. 7. Rotate blower assembly counter-clockwise to remove from dryer. 8. Replace idler assy.
Took off the front of & lifted the top up. Pulled the drum out & replaced the two wheels that turn the drum, replaced the belt & replaced the pully wheel that turns the belt & dryer motor & put back together. The dryer now runs like a new one. Has no noise when running.
Broken belt, but went with the mainentance kit since it was going to be all apart anyway. Found the job easy to do and the new belt idler was a big improvement over the old style. /also came with instructions. Good for another 5-10 years.
