LED light in freezer not working
Unplugged frig. With flat head screwdriver, removed light module and unplugged. Installed replacement module and snapped back into place. Replugged frig. But did not work!! Repeated steps 2x, but no change.
Had been told the frig LED light was the same module as the freezer, but that is not the case. I had hoped to try the new module in the frig. So, back to square one and since I installed the new part, can't return!
1 turned off the unit 2 removed the cover panel be removing 4 Phillips head screws 3 unplugged the on off switch attached to the cover panel 4 removed the two 1/4 in nut head screws holding the ice maker 5 removed the ice maker and disconnected the power at the join 6 performed the above steps in reverse 7 the unit has since been producing ice Repair appears to be a success
Lifted old bin up and pulled away from door. Took new bin, placed in door and set down in place. Replaced old broken bin with new bin. Added additional bin for more storage.
Used a flat head screwdriver to pop the old light out.
Plugged the new one in and snapped it into place. Only other need is a lantern or someone to shine a flashlight over your shoulder since the old light is, presumably, out.
Unhooked water line from house to fridge then unbolted valve from fridge body then removed plastic water line from fridge to valve by pushing in on pex release tab then reversed process with new valve. Works like a charm. No more leakage. Wood floor is dry and Happy!
Referencing the info/schematics you have on your website, I unscrewed/unattached top-front panel (carefully), from behind the panel you have to detach the wires (2) from the switch, pushed "in" the switch to remove, put in new switch and attach wires to test BEFORE remounting panel. Tada!! Thank you PartSelect! You saved me at least $80...would have been at least $100 to have a repair person come to the house!
Repair went well, took about five to ten minutes to disconnect the power from the fridge removed the defective switch installed the new one ,reconnected the power,,,and Let there be light and there was light!
The light would not turn on when the refrigerator door was opened
I removed the plastic portion to get to the switch and wires. I removed the old switch by disconnecting the two wires and pushing it out of its setting.
I discovered the old switch only had 2 prongs where the new switch had 3. Once I figured which 2 of the 3 prongs would light the lightbulb, I then connected the two wires to the correct prongs of the new switch. I pushed the new switch into its setting and replaced the plastic portion on the refrigerator. Voila, success. The refrigerator door now comes on when its door is opened.
Thanks for the having the part and getting it at our door step in 3 days.
Freezer work perfectly, Refrigerator Stopped getting cold, water line froze, there was ice Forming around the condenser in the bottom of the refrigerator behind the drawers
Freezer worked great, refrigerator stopped getting cold and lots of ice formed around the condenser on the bottom of the refrigerator. First I had a serious ice issue, ice build up around the bottom of the refrigerator and all through the cold air vents, condenser and cooling fan. I unplugged of the fridg and let defrost over night. I also took all the cold air vents out and cleaned them. Then I followed the switch install video very simple switch install. Now the Refrigerator works Great nice and cold.
The wire bundle under the left lower corner has 8 wires of which 5 were chaffed and broken due to operation of the door and poor design. Remove the kick panel to expose the bundle, remove hardware holding the bundle to allow room to strip and splice the wires. Ice maker works fine now.
Previously replaced the Fridge light (control board).. The Fridge and Freezer lights were flickering rapidly...LIghts worked fine for four months...then the freezer light went out completely and the fridge light went dim. I unplugged the freezer light and all lights went out! Hooked it back up and ordered new freezer light. After replacing freezer light all three lights work perfectly at full intensity problem solved...For now!
