I noticed that when i turned on my oven, after a few minuets it did not light so, i "tapped" the gas valve and it light. So i'm assuming the valve is going bad? Now i have turned on the oven 2 other times and it seems to take a little longer to light but, it did come on. Now i also noticed that the vent fan shuts off immediately when i turn off the oven, not staying on to cool down. Could this also be related to the valve going bad? Thanks.

Hi Steve,
Thank you for your question. If your igniter is not lighting, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the top burner spark igniter, the oven igniter, the burner heads, the top electrode mounting clip and the gas control valve. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Per heat takes 35 min to 40 min. To get to 425. Igniter turns red and gas is ignited in less than 40 sec. Burner seems to be working all blue flames and even. Flame maybe slightly low but all are working.

Hi Link, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Temperature Sensor, PartSelect Number PS10059162.Testing the temperature sensor probe on your oven is easy. With the sensor at room temperature, measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. The resistance of the sensor should read approximately 1080 – 1090 ohms at room temperature. Hope this helps!

What parts are required to convert oven from gas to propane? Please provide list of needed parts & manual if possible. Thanks!!
For model number JGSP28SEN3SS
Hi Anya, thank you for your question. I have listed the orifices for your burners down below for you. Unfortunately there is no manual for how to replace these parts. However you just have to turn off the gas to the appliance and unscrew the old orifices and replace them with the new ones. For your regulator, there is already an orifice on the inside. All you have to do is flip that part around to change it to LP. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
Good evening. My gas range worked great until i had to remove the lower grill. When i forcefully got it to get out, the gas oven and broiler would not work. The stove top however works fine. Replaced igniter for oven last year. I don't think that is the problem, as th broiler igniter works fine also. Leaning towards gas valve. What do you think?

Hello Mark, thank you for inquiring. Yes, this is most likely due to the Gas Control Valve, part number PS953461 for your model. You may also want to consider the Oven Control, part number PS2374110. Good luck with your repair!

Hi Joe,
Thank you for the great question! The igniter can glow but might be to weak to open the valve. Here is a link to our How To Fix A Gas Range or Stove Igniter That Won't Light page.
