I need to replace the two outer most valves on my GE profile series 30 gas cooktop. They have seized up. I removed the four screws around the perimeter as well as the screws securing the burners and the top still won’t come off. Is there something i’m missing.? also do you know what the part numbers are for these valves.? the diagram is confusing.

Hello Julie,
Thank you for your question. Before you begin any repair please unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet or turn the circuit breaker off. First remove the burner grates from the top of the stove and remove all of the burner caps. Using a Phillips head screw driver unthread the screws securing the burner heads. Disconnect all the spark wires from the surface igniters attached to the heads. Once you have completed this, insert a putty knife under the maintop to release the retaining clips. Detach the maintop and use quarter inch wrench to release the screw securing the grounding wire. With this complete, you can now set the maintop aside. Follow the steps in reverse to reattach it. The two valves you need are under part numbers PS3650625 and part PS8754394. Hope this helps!
