I replaced the sensor that is located behind the back panel of refrigerator section. (this was the part i used: Ps4138666 sensor temp;px-41c,aw3,- ) that did not resolve the problem. We have freezing items in the fresh area, the temperature readings are normal and at the temp that we set them for. I checked the temps with an exterior source thermometer and the fridge display readings when displaying for setting were accurate. There was an icy water slick under the wide deli drawer on the bottom of the fresh area. That drawer also gets water in it. When we took that back panel off we had to defrost it before it would release, there was some ice behind there but it was not totally solid. The display shows us 80 degrees when it comes on for fresh, and displays accurately for freezer side. I suspected that the drain line froze up as this is a known problem for this and similar units. I have the fridge unplugged and defrosting now and it has been about 12 hours but not yet tried to see if that resolved anything. Is it possible for the frozen drain line to throw these types of symptoms? A self diagnostic reveals code 2e. Which i believe may be the freezer sensor. I looked at the sensor located on the freezer ceiling and the cover is on and has not been loosened or knocked open. I did not attempt to remove that cover. I saw that someone online fixed a similar problem with replacing a fridge side thermistor which i am not really sure which part that is. Everything that i saw online pointed me to replacing the part i did and that did nothing. So i tried to look at what other sensors there were and i believe there are a few more in there and i do not know where to go at this point. Any thoughts on this please? Thank you

Hi Nona, thank you for your question. When you are having temperature problems in your fridge, there are a few parts that could cause the issue. You can use a multi meter to test most of the parts. Make sure you cut power to your appliance before doing any repairs or tests. First you should test your defrost thermostat. Place the thermostat in ice cold water for 2-3 minutes after removing it from your appliance. It should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. Another part to check would be your defrost heater. Remove it from the appliance. It should be reading anywhere between 0 - 50 ohms to be working. You could check your temperature sensor. To find the correct reading for this part you will have to refer to your tech sheet that comes with your appliance. You can usually find this tech sheet behind the bottom grille of your fridge on either the right or left side. These are the most common parts that cause this issue in your appliance. So it is suggested you check them first. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
