Perfect replacement valve
Replaced a faulty GE profile gas valve which has stuck and wouldn't completely shut off, not the ideal situation with a gas cook top. This valve fit perfectly. Replacing the valve was minor compared to disassembling and reassembling the cook top.. which is now in perfect working order.

How to remove the top cover to access the burner gas valve
For model number PGP959SET4SS
Hi Ken,
Thank you for your question. Before you begin any repair please unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet or turn the circuit breaker off. First remove the burner grates from the top of the stove and remove all of the burner caps. Using a Phillips head screw driver unthread the screws securing the burner heads. Disconnect all the spark wires from the surface igniters attached to the heads. Once you have completed this, insert a putty knife under the maintop to release the retaining clips. Detach the maintop and use quarter inch wrench to release the screw securing the grounding wire. With this complete, you can now set the maintop aside. Follow the steps in reverse to reattach it. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
