This is an inlet valve for models of compatible washing machines. Inlet valves are electrically controlled solenoid valves that open and close as needed during the washing cycle, to allow water into the washer. If the inlet valve has failed in your washer, you will likely see an error code or your washer simply will not start due to its failure, and it may even begin to leak water into your washer tub, and will need to be replaced immediately. This part features two valves, each with their own respective wire terminals. When replacing this inlet valve, needle-nose pliers, a socket wrench, and screwdriver will be needed, as well as some disassembly of your washing machine. This inlet valve is an OEM part that does not come sold with any other parts or accessories.

Fixed my issue.
I did the replacement myself and without the correct tools but I did it! A second set of hands would have been helpful but definitely not necessary. The YouTube video was extremely helpful. Once replaced, my washer is not longer leaking.

Easy repair with a word of caution
Don't forget to reattach the pressure truce to the circuit board! Part went in very easily, but I did not reattach the pressure tube which of course would not allow the unit to go into the wash cycle! Frustrating, but I finally figured it out.

Water was dripping into the detergent tray when the unit was off.
Removed the control panel back plate cover. Removed the 3 screws that held the water control valve in place. I then unplugged each solenoid one at a time and plugged it into the new control valve. Once all wires were transferred, I pulled the old valve up and put the new valve on. Then reinstalled the screws that held it down and reinstal

Water is leaking into the tub when washer is not in use. I think I need to replace a water inlet valve. Is this the correct part for that?
For model number GTW685BPL0DG
Hi Amanda,
Thank you for your question. If there is water leaking into the tub when the washer is off, then a component in the water inlet valve, part number PS12171559, has failed and you will need to replace it. Good luck with your repair!

I have water leaking from detergent tray area into washer tub when the unit is off. I turned off the water supply to washer and that stopped the leaking. Water drains fine but when water supply is turned on, water continues to leak from detergent tray area. I believe I need to replace the water valve assembly but not too sure before I buy to replace. Never worked on a washer before please let me know If I’m correct?

Hello Albert, Thank you for the question. We would agree the Port on the Valve for the Dispenser is "stuck" open and allowing water through even when the appliance is not in use. This would require the Valve to be replaced. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

The tank fills up, but the sensor in the computer part isn’t recognizing the water in the tub. Once the tub is full the computer says h2o supply. I’m assuming that means it thinks there’s no water in the tub. It fills and drains. I am looking to buy this machine (used but broken) for our grandson. How old is this model?
For model number GTW750CSL0WS
Hi Susan, thank you for your question. Usually when you are having water level issues then you may want to take a look at your water level pressure switch. Which in your case is part of your wiring harness. I have listed that part down below for you. Good luck with your repair.
No hot water wash only cold when hot is on i get nothing cold wash fine is it my inlet valve thank you for your time
For model number gtw680bsj6ws
Hi Russ, thank you for your question. Usually when you are having water issues like this the part to check would be your water inlet valve. You can test the valve with a multi meter to be sure. The solenoids should be reading anywhere between 500 - 1500 ohms to be in working order. Good luck with your repair.

I have a h20 supply error message as the machine fills about 1/2 way. It continues to read sensing when filling and then it drains and the h20 supply message comes on as the machine drains out but does not agitate the clothes. I have replaced the lid lock mechanism, the supply lines as well as the quad valve assembly. I am at a loss what the problem could be?
For model number GTW680BSJ4WS
Hi Tim, thank you for question. The H2O supply error would mean that you are having an issue with the supply of water into your appliance. Generally this issue is caused by either the water inlet valve: PS12171559. Good luck with your repair.

I have leak coming from underneath the fabric softener dispenser. It leaks even when its turn off.
For model number GTW750CSLWS
Hi Brenda, thank you for the question. We have found that if the fabric softener is leaking into the drum, you have overfilled the dispenser. Both the fabric softener and bleach compartments work using a siphon. If the respective compartments are overfilled, the siphoning action occurs immediately, and the fabric softener or bleach is dispensed into the drum. We would recommend filling the dispenser up to the recommended level and checking to see if this helps. If this does not solve the issue, then you may need to replace the siphon break kit, part number PS334662, to fix the problem. We hope this helps!
