I am trying to repair diy our Kenmore side by side refrig, the coils in the back of the freezer keep freezing up, usually takes a week or two. I have replaced the bi metal thermostat...did not help. i tested the defrost heater element it reads 23 ohms of resistance...which i understand indicates it is good. so is the next and final component to test or change out the electronic control board ps# s11748857? if so, how difficult a job is it to replace board, do i need professional repairman? can you walk me through the process of changing the board? thank you

Hi Rick,
Thank you for your inquiry. I would check the control board next. Replacing the control board should not be too difficult. There is a video on our website that you can reference on how to install it. You will find the video under part number PS11755733. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The water filter status light is green, but blinks rapidly - does this mean an error code for the control board or something? I have not been able to find anything online about this symptom. My evaporator coils froze solid, so I am checking the defrost thermostat and element - just wondering if this is telling me there's a control board issue that may be related. Thanks!
