I need to replace the thin metal switch that the knob covers because it broke. What number is this? Thank you
For model number JP626
Hello Tom, thank you for your question. The thin shaft that the knob slides onto is called an infinite switch, or burner switch. This switch controls the heat settings for the top stove elements. There are a few model numbers that start with JP626. If you could provide the complete model number we would be happy to provide the right part number for the burner switches for your unit.

I am trying to purchase a new infinite control dial for my GE cook top. I do not know what the other numbers are except for the jp626 as the tag has worn off. I purchased the cooktop in march of 1996. I am not sure if this will help in determining which infinite dial i need?
For model number JP626
Hello Tom, thank you for your question. There are three infinite switches listed for these models. Infinite Control Switch Part Number: PS1016429, (SWITCH INF CNTL 8" ELMNT) Part Number: PS1021252, and (INFINITE CNTRL SW 6" ELM) Part Number: PS1019199. If you remove the switch you need to replace there might be a part number on the part itself that might help us narrow down the search. I hope this helps.
