the ice tray does not fill with water. the tray will not open to dump ice when the on off switch is cycled.

Thank you for your question. If your your ice maker is not filling with water and it will not dump the ice, you may need a new ice maker. You should also check the dispenser microswitch, the water inlet valve, the dispenser control board, the ice bucket, the fill tubes, the water filter, and the ice dispenser actuator. The upper ice maker will dump the ice for a while and then freeze up and stop dumping. I then have to try and loosen the tray with the ice so it will dump. Sometimes this takes numerous tries until it eventually dumps. But now I can’t get it to dump at all.
