The refrigerator was clicking but not turning the compressor on long enough to work. So the freezer was thawing and freezing which froze the drain line completely. Forcing the water to flood the refrigerator.
I unplugged the capacitor which allowed access to the on/off relay. Unplugged the old broken one and plugged in the new one. All better.

Fridge and freezer were too warm
Chose these parts based on suggestion on this website, as well as other sites. They did not correct the problem. Shipping was also quite slow.

This is a bottom freezer Whirlpool refrigerator. The freezer is no longer defrosting. Ice builds up over time and the fan blades grind on the ice. Is there a timer that signals/regulates a defrost cycle?
For model number WRF560SMYH01
Hi Greg,
Thank you for your question. I would suggest you first test your thermistor to see if that part is working correctly. If it is then take a look at your start device and your run capacitor. You should be able to test them with a multi meter. If all three of those parts are in working order, it may be your control board that is the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
I hear the capacitor buzzing and then click off. Could this be the start device malfunction or a defective capacitor. thank you!
For model number MFF2558VEW2
Hi Mike, Thank you for the question. If the capacitor is buzzing and is not staying on then it sounds to be defective and will need to be replaced, PartSelect Number: PS11757023. Hope this helps!

side by side fridge/freezer,clicking noise fromrear bottom, pulled safety cardboard, traced clicking to either the capacitor or the start device on side of compressor..pulled it apart, took to whirlpool dervice sales where i purchased it 10 years ago locally,he checked capacitor says it was weak as in 2.xx on digital reading and capacitor shows on it 12uf..ordered it,i installed today,,still clicking, compressor STARTS to run,5-7 seconds it SHUTS BACK OFF..same problem as before with original capacitor..aggravated at this product and need help on what parts i need..i am not afraid to try to fix it as i am a mechanic and work on everything from lawn mowers to 100,000 vehicles..guidance will be greatly appreciated..and..is there a way to check this start device for continuity and voltage..hope you can help me on this, thank you..
For model number WRS342FIAW00
Hello Phillip, thank you for the question. It indicates that your compressor’s overload and start relay, part number PS11750010, is faulty. You cannot test this overload and start relay using a multimeter for continuity because it has a control board. You can perform a visual check or you can test power going to the compressor. We hope this is helpful!

Lost heat at vacation home and house completely froze, upon arrival realized fridge and freezer were running warm. Checked coils and they were clean, fan in the back was spinning and compressor was hot to the touch. Thinking the starter relay? Thoughts?
For model number Kitchen aid KFFS20EYMS00

I have a Whirlpool French door bottom freezer, the fridge stop working but the freezer works fine. What is the cause of this problem?
For model number MFF2558VEM5
Hello Wilguins, Thank you for the question. If the Fresh Food Section is not cooling, we suggest checking to make sure the Evaporator Fan Motor is working to circulate the Air from the Freezer to the Fresh Food Section. We also suggest checking the Damper Control Assembly to see if it is opening and closing properly. We hope this helps!
I have a whirlpool refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. the Freezer defrosted and I can hear a clicking sound, but the condenser is not kicking on.
