Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This part is commonly known to cause a leak at the top left corner of the outer tub. It fits over the injector nozzle. It is black in color and measures approximately 2 inches in length. To access this part, you will need to remove the front panel of your washer. There will be 2 screws holding it in place. Once these have been removed, the top will pivot to open, which will give you access to the injector assembly. This is an OEM part that comes right from the manufacturer and is sold individually.

Water leaking
I'm a 70 year old woman. I followed all instructions provided by "Steve" from Partselect video. The video was very well presented and allowed me to fix the leaking problem myself. Watch the video...you can do it.

... Read moree at the top of the tub. This is where the Rubber injector valve and Injector Sleeve are located (right on top). Replace these parts and re-assemble the washer by reversing process. I suggest that while you are in this deep, replace the factory compression-type hose clamps with stainless steel hose clamps. You can see this demonstrated on a YouTube video.
Used a Phillips head screwdriver to allow removal of the front panel. Used a socket set to allow tipping back of the top panel of the washer, to access the injector assembly. VERY IMPORTANT: Moistened the rim of the rubber injector valve, and gently inserted it into the hose, to ensure that the valve did not unroll from the nozzle during insertion into the hose. I found this caused a more serious leak on my first attempt at replacing the injector assembly. Inserted the hose and injector back into injector sleeve and retightened the hose clamp. Then repositioned the top panel, and replaced the front panel.
Waher was leaking at the injecotr valve at the top left of the washer.
The three parts fit together to form one unit. As has been mentioned here already I'm not sure what purpose they serve. I'm also not sure how replacing them stopped the leak but it did. If it had not stopped I think I could have bypassed the valve entirely with a piece of hose or PVC and had it work just fine.
Washer was leaking immediately as it started filling.
I removed the front panel and discovered the general area of the leak. Raised the top and found the injector valve had a hole in it. Removed the injector valve by removing the collar closest to the front of the washer. Searched the internet and found the PartSelect website. What is the function of this injector? Partselect number ps11738945 will my washer be damaged if replace it with a piece of tubing?
Hi Tom, this part is commonly known to cause a leak at the top left corner of the outer tub. It fits over the injector nozzle. I would not recommend diy solutions. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!

I would like to replace both the injector valve and the rubber hose the injector valve fits inside of, on my Maytag A412 washer. Can you give me the correct part numbers that I need? Also the switch when you open and close the lid needs to be replaced.
