I can not cut the night lights off on the bottom of the microwave. What needs to be done?
For model number jvm3160rf3ss
Hello Jo, Thank you for your inquiry. If you have already tried pressing the surface light button and they are not disabling, we would recommend checking the door switches (as the lights will stay on if the control board thinks the door is open). You can test the switches with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, we have videos available to assist you. Also check the touchpad for any loose connections or damaged wires. If the switches test ok, and there is no visible damage to the wires or connectors, then we recommend checking the control board. For safety reasons, since the microwave capacitor can still store electricity even when the microwave is unplugged, it is usually advised that you discharge the capacitor before any attempt at repair. We have included a link on how to do so.
