The ice maker stopped delivering ice, crushed or cubed.

removed six screws removing the cover and exposing the shaft & auger.

I then had to remove the snap ring & undid the end nut that has left handed threads.removed the 6 auger plates and then replaced all parts in reverse order of their removal.

Auger drum broken

Not so easy as others have described. I kept the parts off the auger together in my hand as I replaced the drum. Thanks to the people who mentioned the nut being left handed. Taking a picture before dis-asembly saved me. I would never have gotten it back together otherwise.

Ice not dispensing

This was not a hard repair. Just remove all the screws and slide out the old Auger drum. It is always good to take a picture first incase you have any problems putting it back together. Be careful to put the ice crushers back in the same order and make sure you look at how the "door spring" connects before pulling it apart.

Auger was broken, would not properly dispense ice

Be very, very careful to mark, or make record, of each element as they are removed. For the system to work, the metal "crusher" and dispenser parts must be reinstalled in the exact position as taken out. If you can visualize the assembly, you will note that arms in the drum are placed in a way which allows cube or crushed dispensing. Besides making a schematic, I took a picture which helped me. Of course I am not a real refrigerator repair guy, and had to take the extra steps.

The auger drum had detached from the shaft (broke off).

I removed the external shaft that controls the ice grinder. Its spring loaded so you have to remember how to get it back together. I removed the screws that hold the cover in place. I removed the nylon nut that holds the drum and grinder on the center shaft. I replaced the drum and reversed the procedure.

The Ice bin auger was a little difficult because when we took out the ice crusher part we had problems putting it back to it would contine to cruch, it is still off some but on a whole I now can get ice from the door again. I could have used better directions on taking out the old and replaceing it.
