Perfect fit, easy install, done.
Noticed cracked lid hinge on inside left. Found this site and read the reviews related to the part number. Became alarmed when some reviews noted that the washer was destined to stop working. Ordered a replacement for a couple hundred bucks from this company and it arrived in perfect condition and within 2 weeks (I don't remember exactly how long). Replaced the old one with a couple screws, pulled off the protective film, and done. Couldn't have been easier. Exact match and you couldn't tell any difference from the old one. Perfect. Will use this company again for any future needs.

Repair went quickly.
The lid came within a few days. The box was open and I wondered if anything was missing including any directions. I tried sever torx wrenches.before before I found out I needed a a #15. I wish the box had included new spacers (the little white spacers) because mine were worn and I had the lid out anyway. I had looked up the instructions on the website and once I learned it was a #15, it was easy to take the screws out and replace the lid.

Washer Lid
I was skeptical of buying a part not directly from the OEM or in this case, Maytag. The Washer Lid was a perfect fit with no mounting issues. Our Washer is back running like new.

So easy!
My washing machine lid broke about 6 months ago, and I just limped along by coxing the lid to close without popping out and praying I would get it to unlock and open. It was only about 3 years old, and I didn't want to buy a new washing machine. I finally went on-line to see if there was a fix, and saw that what had happened to my machine had happened to other people as well. Ordered the new lid, and when it came it only took about 20 minutes to take the old off and install the new! Now works like a champ! I shouldn't have waited so long.

Broken lid frame at left hinge.
Raised lid to remove two Torx head screws from each hinge. Lid will then lift off of hinges. Installation of new lid was the reverse of the removal procedure. It is best to install one hinge to the lid by removing that hinge from the washer. The lid can then be installed by inserting that hinge into it's spot and then over the other hinge
... Read more. Install the hinge screws into the second hinge and the job is complete. The lid now closes properly allowing the automatic lid lock to function properly.

I need to order the lid to this model washer. Does it come with installations instructions?
For model number MVWB835DW3
Hello Peggy,
Thank you for your question. There should be two wire hinges and screws on the back corners of the lid, once you remove those you should be able to remove the lid and attach the new lid the same way. We hope this helps!

How do you remove the hinge assembly from the top lid. I removed the 4 star screws but it is not coming out. The pins at the corners do not come out. Thanks
For model number MVWB865GW0
Hello Rey, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, the four screws go into the holes in the two hinges. After removing the screws, just lift the lid up and it will slide up and out easily. If this is not the case, then you may need to pry up the lid with a little force or you may try to get the lid free from one side first by lifting it up and getting it free from the hinge. Once the lid is out, just slide out the hinges and insert new hinges in the holes. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
