Machine will not turn on. When I plugged in in it sparked. But when I plugged something else in the same outlet it had power, just not the washer so I know it the washer. Is it fried?

Sounds like it is running but nothing is moving. After a few minutes it starts beeping every so often. Has a “drn” in the display.
For model number MVWB835DW0

Hello Ron, Thank you for your question. The "DRN" display means that there is an issue with the drain pump in the washer, and the pump under part PS11756530 for your model would need to be check and/or replaced. We hope this helps.

Washer makes a howling noisy when spinning at high speed like a bad bearing and is also leaking a lot. Assuming a bad bearing, but could a bad bearing cause a bad leak and if so, could if have damaged the drum to the point that a new bearing installation might not fix the leaking.
For model number MVWB835DW0
PartSelect logo
Hi Jerry, Thank you for your question. If your washer is making a noise while spinning, then it is possible that a worn bearing may be causing the issue. If it is worn or damaged, it may cause some leaking. The main tub bearing is sold with the outer tub and you will need to check it for signs of damage. Also, check and see if the suspension rods are in place and keeping the tub from shaking and moving. If the washer is leaking, you should also check the hoses and hose clamps and the water inlet valve to see if they are connected correctly and if they show signs of wear or damage. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.

The washing machine show e3 and f5. We have tried unplugging it. It says we have 10 year limited part warranty what does this include?
For model number MVWB835DW0
PartSelect logo
Hello Joanne, Thank you for your inquiry. The F5 E3 error code indicates an issue with the lid lock assembly. We would recommend checking the lid lock assembly, part# PS11722981. You can test this part with a multimeter and we have videos available to assist you. Also check the tab on the lid that pushes down into the locking mechanism as well to make sure it is not cracked or broken. While we do have a 1 year warranty on all of the parts that we offer, for information on the 10 year limited warranty that comes with the model, you would have to contact the manufacturer directly. We hope this helps.

Replaced my gear case on my washing machine. At first used the drum turned fine when sending, when the agitator engaged it did not agitate, it was making clicking noises similar to what a starter sounds like in a dead battery in a car. I got an e6 f8 error code. No issues with lid locking. Is it possible to over tighten the spanned bolt? Im unsure what to do next? Thank you
For model number MVWB835DW0
PartSelect logo
Hello Kenny, Thank you for your inquiry. The E6 F8 error means that the control board senses that there is water in the tub with the lid open for more than 10 minutes. It is possible to overtighten the bolt so remove and tighten it again until it is snug. We would still recommend testing the lid switch with a multimeter, as well as the motor stator, the rotor and the water inlet valve. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, we have videos available to assist you. We hope this helps and if you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Scratches in Surface
This product comes in a bottle with a brush like Liquid Paper. It goes on incredibly easy. A second coat might be needed. I wanted to prevent rust from setting in so I covered the scratches and dings. The paint is a little brighter since my washer is 10 years old but it still looks great.

Loud grinding noise when the washer was in use.
1.) disconnect power to your washer. Turn off water supply and disconnect from the washer.

open the washer top and remove plastic cap from the wash plate

2.) using 7/16 socket, remove bolt from the wash plate. If you can't remove it with a socket , I recommend using impact wrench.

3.) remove wash plate ( you might need to spray penetrating oil or wd40 inside the bolt hole to loosen it.
Check to make sure the wash plate gear grooves are not worn down, if they are, replace it.

4.) using your Maytag specific spaner nut wrench, remove the spaner nut from the shaft of the gear case. This should be right underneath where the wash plate was. If you can't turn it by hand , use a rubber mallet or hammer to encourage it.

5.) some people remove the wash basket at this point. I don't think it is necessary.

6.) close your washing machine. Tape the top closed to keep it from flying open. Tilt your washer back and prop it up where you have access to the underside of the washing machine.

7) remove motor rotor bolt and pull rotor off of the motor.

8.) disconnect the two wire connectors that supply power to motor. using a socket, remove bolts that are keeping motor attached to the gear case.

9.) Now that the gear case is all the is remaining on the underside, you can remove the 4 bolts that are holding the gear case to the washer. Now try to pull gear case out.

10.) if gearcase will not pull out, lower washer back to upright position. Spray penetrating oil or wd40 around the shaft of the gearcase and allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes. Using a hammer, lightly tap on the shaft of the gearcase and it should now fall out. ( you might have to apply penetrating oil again, or apply more force with the hammer.

11.) reinstall motor to new gearcase. Insert new gear case to the washer. Reinstall bolts and reconnect power supply wires.

12. ReInstall spaner nut inside the washer, reinstall wash plate.

Broken lid frame at left hinge.
Raised lid to remove two Torx head screws from each hinge. Lid will then lift off of hinges. Installation of new lid was the reverse of the removal procedure. It is best to install one hinge to the lid by removing that hinge from the washer. The lid can then be installed by inserting that hinge into it's spot and then over the other hinge. Install the hinge screws into the second hinge and the job is complete. The lid now closes properly allowing the automatic lid lock to function properly.
