This part is the replacement lid latch or latch assembly for your top-load washer. It contains the latch mechanism and the connecting wire that hooks the door latch to the electrical system of the washer. The lid latch holds your washer door closed and allows the washer to run its cycle. If the lid latch is damaged, your washer door may not close properly. Additionally, the latch will not send the signal to the washer that the door is latched, and therefore the washer won’t run. This part is sold individually and is a genuine OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

Our washer is getting power to it (there is a Green light on the back where the control board is), but will not start. After putting in coins, the Green light on the front panel does not light up. Prior to it not working, we were told water did not drain. What parts should we be focusing on to repair? Thanks in advance!
For model number CAE2745FQ0
Hi Connie, thank you for your question. You may want to check your latch first. It could be that the part believes that the door is not closed and so it will not allow your appliance to start. If that part is fine the problem might actually be in your control board and that part may need to be replaced. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

How do i check if this switch Part# W10482836 is bad
Hello Lonne, thank you for asking! The door latch is a protective device that ensures the door remains closed and locked during the cycle. The first indication of a bad latch is that either the door will not close properly or it will be stuck in the closed position. We can also check it by running Ohm-inspection using an ohm meter. For this remove the wiring harness from the main control board and note the yellow and white wire. Put the multimeter probe on the yellow and white terminal of the harness. Our ohmmeter reading should be between 85 and 150 ohms. If it is not in this range, the latch is problematic. We hope this helps. Please feel free to reach out to us if you need any further help, our customer service is available seven days a week.

will not spin on drain and spin function fine otherwise. should the lid lock ligt come on and stay on during this cycle?
For model number CAE2795FQ0
Hello Jeff, thank you for reaching out. The lid lock light on the interface of your appliance should be on when the washer is performing its cycle. If the lid lock light is turning off during the cycle, it may be due to a faulty lid latch assembly, part number PS11755478, which needs to be replaced. A faulty control board, part number PS12348777, can also be the cause of your problem, as it manages the washer's functions such as filling, washing, draining, and spinning. We hope this information is useful!
