This part is the replacement lid latch or latch assembly for your top-load washer. The lid latch holds your washer door closed, and allows the washer to run its cycle. If the lid latch is damaged, your washer door may not close properly and you may not be able to run your washer. The latch is found under the lid and can be screwed out and replaced. You will need a Phillips-head screwdriver for this repair. This part is sold individually and is and OEM part from the manufacturer.

The part I received was exactly what I needed.
The part was ordered to replace one that was lost! They primary Laundry person does not deal well with a lid that locks, so she removed the screws to defeat the lock. I lost the part, so, in order to do laundry, had to order a replacement.

Easy repair. Part is working great
Got the part in 2 days. Did look up on how to change it out. All you have to do is take the brackets off the back, push the lid forward. Take off old latch, run the new wire through the clips. Take off the top back piece, remove the old connector and fish it out of the hole, and run the new connector. It took maybe 20-30 minutes.Have no trouble with it at all.

The washer lid comes unlocked during drain and spin cycle so it does not completely drain and spin. I put the wash through the drain and spin cycle a second time and it works fine. This happens with every load of clothes I wash. What part do I need to replace? Thanks so much
For model number WTW5640XW1

The washer will turn on, lid locks and the motor sounds like its trying to start then it just sits there and flashes, the motor was just replaced and was running fine for about three loads before this happened.
For model number WTW5600XW2
Hi Trevor,
Thank you for your inquiry. It could be a couple of things. Have you tested your shift actuator to see if that part is also still functioning? Behind the front panel of your appliance, you should actually have a technical sheet that will list all of the electrical tests that you can do to your appliance to determine if the parts are working correctly. I would suggest going through those as well. It could be your shift actuator or your control board that is the problem. Good luck.
Need a new latch assembly. Is w10240513 the correct part number?
For model number DU945PWSQ0
Hello Kathie, thank you for inquiring. For your model the Door Switch Kit is part PS358749. We hope this helps.

What do codes F50 and F52 mean?
For model number WTW5640XW3
Hi Teresa,
Thank you for your question. The F50 error code is letting you know that the
motor rotor position sensor (RPS) senses no rotation. The F52 error code is letting you know that the motor rotor position sensor (RPS) senses rotation after a stop command. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I go to start washer red light comes on like it wants to start, but then the red light will blink several times and then the machine shuts down. If we try to start it several times it will finally start to run and works perfect then.

Washer will not start sometime. When you turn it on the red lite comes on and in a few seconds red lite starts to blink and waher shuts down,. Repeat start process and washer will finally start and run thru cycle. You may have to repeat start procedure several times before it will start.
For model number mvwx600xw0
Hi Vern, thank you for your question. There are a few parts that you could check. The parts to check first would be your lid switch. that is the most common part to cause issues. Other parts to check would be your shift actuator, and your capacitor as well. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My lid on the Kenmore 500 series closes but the machine will not start wash. I found a small plastic part the size of my small fingernail in the tub bottom. Lid will not latch. What is needed?
For model number 110.25102311
Hello Rex, Thank you for the question. We suggest checking the Lid Latch Assembly, PartSelect Number PS3497627. The point of the lid switch is for the tub to stop spinning when the washer lid is opened. It is a safety precaution just in case someone decides to stick their hand inside the washer while the tub is spinning. We hope this helps!
Washer will not lock lid. Replaced lid lock mechanismbut it still makes a buzzing noise when i push start button. Then sense light comes on and lid light keeps flashing. Should i try and replace striker?
For model number MVWC400XW2
Hi Pat, thank you for your question. You could take a look at it, yes. This part is a physical part so you should see damage that causes it not to work. If that is not the issue you might have to look into your control board being the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
