You mentioned for self propelled mower the gearbox is most likely not at fault. My v-belt is not broken but is worn. Can simply replacing a worn belt allow the mower to be self propelled? The cable mechanism seems to be working fine and i do notice a "squealing" sound when trying to engage propelling. How would i determine it is the belt causing the problem?

Hello Mike and thanks for writing. The V-belt rotates the drive pulleys to drive the lawnmower wheels. If the V-belt is worn out or broken, the lawnmower wheels won't turn. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime.

The mower has no traction and the long axle is spinning independently, by hand, from the short axle. How can i determine if the gearbox has gone bad?

Hello Alberto, thank you for inquiring. For this symptom you would want to consider checking and possibly replacing either the Traction Cable part PS8848740 or the V-Belt part PS8844898 for your model. The Gearbox is most likely not a cause of the issue. We hope this helps.
