Question:

Looking to replace the green and the white glides but forget which went where, can you give me rough positioning?

Peter
Answer:

Hi Peter, you can position the white bearing slides at approximately 9 and 3 o’clock (across from each other). The green bearing slides can be placed at approximately 1 and 11 o’clock. I hope this helps you visualize it better!

Question:

how many of these do I need to order to replace the green drum slides and how many come in a package

Rachel
Answer:

Hi Rachel, the drum slides come in one per package, so you will need to order two of each. For the green drum slides you can order part number WE1M1067, and for the white you can order part number WE1M504. Although only your green drum slides need replacing at the moment, we strongly advise replacing both the green and the white (upper and lower) together for an even wear. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Hi Kerry, Thank you for your inquiry. The green slides go on the inner most slots on the front bearing while the white glides go on the outer most sides of the front bearing. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Dryer made noise upon startup which quieted after a few minuts. Sounded like loose coins in the drum.

Removed two screws inside the door at the top of the frame. This allowed the top to be lifted and slid to the left a bit which allowed the front of the dryer to be removed. The Drum Bearing was held on with plastic tabs and the Bearing slides just fitted over a small tab then into a slot. There is a "knockout" for the light which is removed. The entire process took less than 15 minutes.

None stop screeching sound from the front of dryer

Unplugged power to dryer. Opened door and removed the two screws that hold the top panel on. Removed top panel and set aside. Then removed the two screws that hold the front panel secure and leaned front panel towards me. Replaced parts with absolutely no tools. Reverse steps to assemble dryer. The videos are very informative and give you the confidence you need to do it yourself.

Very annoying squeal as the dryer drum turned

I first watched the video provided on the web site to confirm the steps to repair. Simply remove two screws and lift off the top to gain access to the two screws that hold the front. I didn't need to unplug the wiring harness - just fold the dryer front sideways 90 degrees and have plenty room to work. From there it is just unplug the old parts and plug in the new. Everyone else may know this, but there are TWO green bearing slides and TWO white slides on my model. I only ordered one of each the first time. The second time is much easier!!

Squealing as drum rotated

Removed the star bit screws on the top of the control panel then removed the front by opening the door and removing the screws in the upper corners of the door jam. I then removed the top which exposed the drum slides. NOTE: This model requires 4 drum slides and NOT two as specified in the video.

Very noisy!

Mine is actually a twofold thing, bc I diagnosed the problem Bfore taking the dryer apart and looking. Highly recommend taking it apart Before ordering the parts. I started out replacing the belt,bc I had read that it makes most of the noise. While replacing the belt, I noticed the bearing, slides, and felt were all messed up. Still, I felt it would work with just the belt.WRONG! It made it through one load before it broke the belt. Fortunately, I had kept the other belt, and ordered the four other parts. I was able to do it without actually unhooking the door from the housing. I just laid it back against it. No tools were needed to replace any of the new parts. I did get a friend to help me put the old belt (which was still in good shape actually) back on. He has a right arm that works! Oh, forgot to mention. This took less than an hour and I only have my non dominant arm that works due to neck surgery a month ago. Repairing a dryer is easy when you watch the videos. Just don't get intimidated! You can do it!????
