This part is an induction drive motor for a dryer. This is an OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer. This part has a body and two shafts. One shaft is for the drive belt and the other is for the blower wheel. The drive shaft rotates the drive belt that spins the dryer drum to dry your clothing while producing air flow through the drum by rotating the blower wheel. If the motor cannot be turned by hand, it may be defective and should be replaced. Before ordering this part, check the door switch and thermal fuse to be sure those parts are not the issue with the dryer.

My Samsung dryer which is about 10 years old, keeps shutting down before end of drying cycle? It heats and tumbles. Also checked venting. According to what i read on internet trying to troubleshoot the problem, i needed to replace moisture sensors or motor. I have done both, now and it still shutting off on both automatic and manual dry after about 20 minutes? What else could be causing this malfunction? Please advise. Thanks.

Should the motor free wheel without a rub sound or is that something else ?
