Question:

How do I bypass damaged lid lock switch for a temporary test?

Ronald for model number 100.20022012
Answer:

Hi Ronald, Thank you for your question. First and foremost disconnect your water and the power from your appliance before starting. Locate where your switch actually fits on to your appliance and place a magnet between them. Now there will be a magnetic connection between the lid switch and solenoid. After you do that, put the lid of the washer back on and turn on the appliance. If the appliance turns off, disconnect power once more and reposition the magnet. Caution. If you are at all uncomfortable with doing something like this, I would strongly suggest contacting a repair technician to come and help you. I hope this helps. Good luck with your repair.

Question:

At the start of cycle the washer goes through the first 2 sensing actions like locking and unlocking the lid and then spinning to sense the amount of load on the 3rd action there is a loud buzzing sound and nothing happens the only to stop it is to pull the plug .The motor has been replaced and the water valve assembly has been replaced .

Terry fields for model number WTW5640XW0
Answer:

Hi Terry, Thank you for your inquiry. Try doing a load of clothes on a different setting then what you normally use and see if the timer advances. If it does then the previous cycle you normally use is worn out and the timer will need to replaced. If this is not the issue and the timer stops in the new wash cycle you have chosen then I would check to see if there is an issue with the lid switch. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Defective lid latch - cabrio washer

The instructions that came with the part were worthless. Essentially, unplug, put in new part, plug it back in. I spent a considerable amount of time on the internet and finally found a video showing how to open the top. Unlike other models, it is held down by clamps in the back rather than clips in the front. Once finding this information the installation was simple. Remove the clamps and the back of the console, slide the top forward and lift, remove and replace the lock and reassemble. You don't even have to remove the hoses.
