Dishwasher Dishrack Rollers and Axles WD35X20994

I removed the anchor screws at the top of the dishwasher, and the screws holding the bottom kickplate in place. I pulled out the dishwasher 8-10 inches to expose the cables where the plastic hinge arm links are installed.
On mine, there is a steel cable with a hook crimped on the end. The hinge arm link doesn't slide out of this crim ... Read more ped hook easily as-is, the opening is too small. I removed the old link pieces by breaking them, but I couldn't get the new hinge arm links installed without filing the opening of the hook to accept them more easily.
The demo installation video doesn't show this spring-cable-hook-hinge link configuration, so it was a little more involved than I expected. I would have packed my metal file if I had known this would be an issue. I replaced both sides while I was in there, and the remaining good one was pretty brittle. I was glad I took the time to do both. I had to file both sides to install the new links.

The dishrack rollers were easy to install.
The rack slide end caps from the factory were difficult to remove and reinstall without some pliers and elbow grease. The replacement part was much easier to install.

Removed the stops at the end of the upper rack, removed the old rollers. Replaced with new rollers and installed the stops back in place. Very easy, finished in less than 15 minutes. Replacement rollers very much improved with design from the original rollers.

Removed rack, removed old roller pieces, installed new, replaced rack , and works as new now!!

Although the replacement part was different that the original, the replacement is a better design and attached with no difficulty.

Removed two upper rack rail end cap stops. Removed upper rack. Replaced four old upper rack rollers (wheels) and installed four new upper rack rollers. Replaced upper rack in correct position. Once observing the differences, the new parts fit properly and perfectly.

My wife grabbed the upper rack as she fell backwards across the front of the open dishwasher. It broke her fall - she is fine thank goodness - but the roller slides broke and the rail was destroyed. I used the pliers to remove one of the old wheel axles that was attached to the basket.

Used diag wire cutters to remove temporary cable tie that I installed to make temp repair. Positioned redesigned GE OEM wheel axle on tray, snapped in place. Walked away after abt 1 min repair job.

I thought the parts wouldn't be aailable. 10 minutes on the interner, easy check out, arrived UPS next day, popped off the old wheels according to the diagram and popped the new ones on.

pulled the racks out, replaced the broken parts....easy job
