The Rack Slide End Cap is a white one-inch plastic part which replaces the end cap for your dishwasher rack, preventing your rack from sliding too far. If you find the dish rack is causing the door to not close properly, it may be due to the part being worn out or damaged. All you need to complete this repair is a small flat blade screw driver. Simply pop out the cap with a smaller flat-blade screwdriver and snap the new one into place. If the rear cap needs to be replaced you will need to remove both front caps and slide the rack completely off for full access. It is important to note that this part is sold individually, and more than one may be required, depending on your repair. An inexpensive part, it can be a good idea to purchase several at a time to have on-hand when needed.

How do I remove the upper end cap …
Hi Peggy, try using a smaller flat blade screwdriver to press in on the retainer clip. This is the small part that would be sticking out through the back of the metal rack slide. Once this has been pushed in, you should be able to pull it out by the end to remove it. I hope this helps!

The soap is still in the soap compartment after the the dishwasher is done. It acts like no water is being used at all.
For model number GSD6200J00CC
Hello Scot, thank you for your question. If the soap isn't being released automatically the most likely issue is the dispenser itself. You would want to to replace the dispenser PartSelect Number: PS958966. Good luck with your repair!

Machine has started making a roaring noise but only when spraying. It is still cleaning fine and drains properly. I have checked and cleaned a small amount of debris from the filters removed the spray arms and checked them, they are clean, flow freely, and spin freely. Any thoughts?

Hello Alex, thank you for your question. It sounds like an issue with the circulation pump, PartSelect Number: PS1017766. I would recommend replacing that part. I hope this helps!

Worn/broken plastic parts were causing misery
Order arrived two days after being placed. Super easy to remove the old, worn, broken plastic parts and replace with new. Everything popped right on just as shown in the diagram. Our happiness with our dishwasher has increased 100%. BTW, thanks to the very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff at PartSelect.com -- next job, replace the ice maker in the freezer!
The repair was easy. A couple turns of a screwdriver was all that was necessary to remove the rollers and slide assembly. The I simple installed the new rollers. Slid the slide into place between the rollers and then added the back caps to the slide. Replaced the rack rollers on the top basket and then slid it into position between the new slides. Once in place, I attached the end caps to the front of the slide. Simple and quick.
Bottom rack - slide the old one out, slide the new one in. The rack came came with the wheels, so I didn't use the replacement ones. Top rack - remove the rail end caps - they will likely break so order new ones. Slide the rack out. Remove the rotating spray arm and then remove all the brackets. I was able to re-use the old brackets and didn't need the replacements. Install the old brackets on the new rack, install the spray arm, and slide the new rack back into the rails. The new top rack also came with wheels installed, so I didn't use the replacement ones. Once the rack is back in the rails, install new rail end caps. Put them in sideways and facing into the washer. Straighten the caps and turn them into place. Be careful with the rail caps - they break easy and are expensive. Make sure they hold the top rack in place, and that's it.
Removed the lower rack and upper rack after removing the end caps on the rail. Order new replacement end caps. The originals will likely break because the plastic becomes more brittle over time. Unsnap the upper washer arm from the original upper rack and snap onto the new one before inserting it into the rails.
The trick is replacing the end caps. Using needle-nose pliers, bend the indented edge of the rails out so you can attached the new end caps without trouble. After they are in place, use the tip of the needle-nose pliers to restore the indentation on the edge of the rails to lock the caps in place.
I first read about others with the same problem on your web sight and figured if they could do it so could I. Anyway the directions are a little hard to read but it was very informative and straight forward. I took the advice of one of the do it your-selfers when it came down to removing the spring. Be careful not to loose it. Everything was there that I needed and went on without a hitch. Now it was time to see if my repairs were done correctly. Pow! Everything worked. This is a great web-sight to buy parts if you are a do it your selfer. Easy to follow instructions.
Very, very easy. Took about 5 minutes. The end cap was on and working. And the repair company would charge $65 just to come out and look at it. It costs $9.00 to fix it. I am moving on to the refrigerator next. Very satisfied. Shipping is well worth the money. Ray D, Ansonia, CT
Old cap was already off and had string on it. Cut the string. Placed end cap over. Used needle nose pliers to open metal rail a little and put in new cap. Locked right in. That was easy. Thanks again.

2 rollers and end caps were broken were broken
Pulled the basket out the appliance and took what was left of the roller off and replaced them and slid the basket back onto the slide channel into the appliance. Then snapped the end caps on. Almost too simple. Less money than it costs to have the service man ring your door bell.
Removed the dishwasher from the cabinet. Turned it on it's top side. Removed the exit hose from the pump with a nut driver and replaced the flapper. Reconnected the hose to the pump.

Easy and Quick but Pricey
I guess over twenty dollars for a 5-cent piece of plastic (including shipping) is OK if it means your dishwasher works or doesnt- cheaper than a plumber. It went on easily, does the job and saves me a load of frustration. I guess having this kind of part in stock is a service to mankind. .

Better Than Original
I ordered these after the originally installed part all but failed when I removed it to gain access to portions of my dishwasher that needed maintenance. Knowing failure was eminent, I wanted to be prepared.
I was VERY PLEASED to see the replacement part was of a new design that did not require undue stress for removal. It was the undue stress that damaged the original part, guaranteeing failure.
Sure enough, the damaged original part failed about 3 weeks after my maintenance work. I installed the new part with ease, and immediately removed it to see how the new part would survive the process. It came out easily and reinstalled easily. Very happy!

Very easy repair. Part fit perfectly. Done 2 mins.
Exactly as advertised and did the trick. Prevents the shelfs from coming out of the dishwasher when fully extended, which is the purpose of the part.
