I would like to say first of all that I was amaized and pleased at how simple the ordering of this part was and while looking at the parts diagram on you website I noticed the door swing was optional and could be easily changed and the dryer came from the factory with a latch installed on both sides of the door. In our laundry room the dryer sits to the left of the washer and the door to the dryer opened to the right which has always been a slight inconvenience. . . So instead of changing out the broken part, I took the door and hinge off with my cordless screwdriver (6-8 screws) and turned it around and remounted it on the opposite side. . . Simple! I never took the new part out of the ups envelope. Now I have a spare so I taped the new part in the envelope to the back of the dryer in case I ever need it and now we have more convenience with the door swinging the correct way. Sweet deal! Took less than an hour. Thank you for making this task simple. Chuck g.

Followed the repair steps provided in the PartSelect video for the dryer! Piece-of-Cake! Trickiest step is reattaching the belt to the idler wheel (blind), but with analysis of how it goes before the drum is reinstalled, it can be done straightforwardly. Happy repairs!

No problem with the repair, it was getting the appropriate part. Maytag service center would have given me one free from old parts if they had one. They didn't wish to order one as the three piece knob was $30 to $40. They suggested that I use super (crazy) glue. I didn't wish to do that. I finally found PartSelect who would sell me just the one component that I required at a cost of $4.24. I simply took the original knob apart and replaced the broken piece that fits over the timer shaft and all is good. Thank you PartSelect !!!

After watching the video to repair the glides my son and I began the process. After making the repairs and putting the dryer back together the drum would not turn. I told my son it had to be a bad belt He claimed it was not. After taking the dryer drum off we found the belt to be very brittle and worn. After calling around a shop that sold the part was found. Replacement was made and the dryer now runs like brand new. Thanks.

  • Tools Required: Nutdriver, Screw drivers

I removed the back cover of the dryer electrical components module - after unplugging the dryer - and removed the timer knob. I used the nut driver to remove the two screws holding the timer module in place and disconnected the wires from the old timer module and connected to the new one. The timer module was clearly marked with the color codes for the wires and it was really easy to replace. The timer module works well and I am once again a hero in my wife's eyes!

rear roller drum and shaft broken

  • Customer: Bill from Midlothian, VA
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Time to Complete: 1- 2 hours
  • Tools Required: Screw drivers, Wrench set
  • 0 of 0 people found this instruction helpful
Followed instructions on the you tube video included in the part selection of the PartSelect part ordering webpage. The video described replacing the drum roller and shaft, as well the dryer cabinet / drum belt / etc. removal to access the broken parts on my exact dryer. Individual parts were less expensive on other websites, and I could find the you tube independently, however, the instructions included from PartSelect, quick delivery and professional service from Part Select were worth the difference ! My first experience with PartSelect, but not my last.
