Loud screaching noise from the Dryer.
I found some youtube videos on how to take apart a Maytag dryer. It was possible to do so with the limited tools I had. I tested the possible issue causing parts and found that the idler pulley was the issue. Ordered the part online and it arrived promptly within 3 days. Replacing the part was very easy. Again, I followed a video instruction from youtube. The difficult part of the job is to take the dryer apart and putting it back together. The dryer now runs like a Hybrid car. The new iddler pulley does not look identical ot the replaced one. But it works and that is what matters.

Loud Squeal, lost two of the three baffles...
OK, so, we get this Neptune Washer and Dryer for a good deal from mom and pops. it's a couple years old when we get it. We go about two years with no issues then the motor dies out on us. Maytag won't even consider a warranty as we were not original owners. got an after market replacement and the fix, though time consuming, was fairly easy. I opted to not change any other components as we were short the cash...well with in a month of replacing motor, I get this horrible squealing from inside. I pull the front off and try to isolate the noise...yeah right, aluminum box...I lube both drum rollers and that fixes the issue for a month...then back to the squeal...every thing seemed to work right so we just lived with it for a year. i got tired of it and ordered all the replacememnts including two baffles that had broken off. Replaced both drum rollers, including one drum roller shaft taht had been the source of the noise, bearing failed and ground down about 1/4 inch from the top of the shaft. New baffles, new rollers and put it all back together...and still a small amount of squeaking, not nearly as bad but still frusterating. I am going to remove drum rollers and apply a thick coat of hi temp grease. I am hoping that will fix it once and for all. I used this web site exclusively for the directions and parts. Thanks you guys!!

Dryer not stopping. Timer continued to revolve.
Unplug the dryer. Remove the 3 screws on the top of the control panel. Gently pull the control panel toward you and up and out. Removed two nuts holding timer to panel. Slowly wiggle and remove the wires with needle nose on the back end of the wire clip. I removed them one at a time and then replaced them onto the new timer. Easier to keep track of although the timer is clearly marked. Replace the time onto the panel with the two nuts and place the control panel back in its seat. 3 screws back on and all done. It was an easy repair. Also replacing the timer, brought my PRESS CARE cycle back into play as well as the CHIME. Neither were working. Maybe these two controls not working were an early sign that the timer was going bad.

Rumbling noice
Two things I must mention: First, ordering the parts was made easy by PARTS SELECT online ordering process. Second, after reviewing the PARTS SELECT tutorial online I felt so confident that when it was time to get started, I called my 13 year old son and with my supervision he did about 90% of the job. The drier is workin like a new one. By the way, thanks for the prompt delivery of the parts.

Dryer door would not stay closed
I did a quick research online and found PartSelect to have the best price. I ordered my part on Monday 8/6 and to my tremendous surprise FedEx delivered it Tuesday 8/7!! I did not pay for overnight delivery. My son happened to come by that day and he took a small flathead screwdriver, pried the old one out and inserted the new part. Done in 5 minutes! PartSelect will be my supplier from now on.

Squealing noise which got worse over time
The dryer started to make a squealing noise which got worse over time. I went on the internet to research what might be the cause of the problem and came across your website which pointed to drum rollers, idler pully wheel or belt as potential causes of the problem. I watched the installation video on how to dismantle the dryer and upon removing the tub discovered it was the idler pulley wheel and bearing had broke. I ordered the parts and figured I would replace the belt while I had the dryer apart. The parts arrived the day after I ordered them and I was able to fix the dryer in about 45 minutes thanks to the video your website provided taking someone from start to finish in dismantling and replacing the parts that I had ordered. I won't explain how to repair it because I would advise someone who hasn't taken a dryer apart, like me, to watch the installation video. It was easier than I expected and will come to this site in the future for appliance repair problems. The dryer works great and I will get many more years of use out of it.

Dryer Making a Loud Squeal During Operation
I dissasembled the front access panel and removed the drum and belt. After turning the drum support rollers and idler pulley wheel I was able to determine the loud squeal was coming from the idler pulley wheel. Since I had half the dry disassembled I went ahead and replaced the support rollers,(they looked worn), drive belt, and the idler pulley wheel. The belt looked fine, but the dryer is about 12 years old so I figured it wouldn't hurt to replace it as well. The DIY video's linked with my order invoice where spot on. If you are changing the drum rollers make sure you have a pair of snap ring pliers- You will definitly need them. Otherwise you risk breaking the snap rings. I saved $117 doing this myself. Thanks PartSelect!

Dryer was making a loud squeaking noise
We disassembled the dryer, which was really easy because we viewed a video on YouTube, to determine the problem. One of the support rollers had all but disintegrated. It appeared as if the belt was in good condition, but we decided to order a new one as well as the drum support rollers. We found PartSelect online, and using the model number of the dryer, we were able to determine the precise parts we needed to do the repair. We also ordered some related parts in case we found the problem to be more extensive than originally thought. The parts came within two days. We were able to view videos on the PartsSelect website for step by step instructions. The dryer was surprisingly easy to repair, and with the new parts runs like new! As a note - we didn't open any packaging until we were ready to use the part. We were able to return the unused parts for full credit. I couldn't even get a repairman to come through my door for what it cost to repair our dryer.
