Our refrigerator ice maker was broken, crisper draw was broken, and shelf support was broken.
We decided to get a new fridge, after the " sticker shock " of new refrigerators we decided to repair the one we have. Two screws and one plug and the ice maker was replaced, took out the broken crisper shelf, put in the new one and that was done, instructions were great. I actually had to watch a " how to " video, ( provided by your web site ) to change the shelf support, very easy. thanks, Gary Hoyle

Clinking sound and you can feel it in the handle of the door.
The repair was easy. After looking at the diagram and locating the part need i just ordered it. But I wish I had taken the door off before ordering as I really need a second part. So resulting in extra shipping cost. Parts that were needed were 240328201 and 240457702. Tks Jim

Icemaker quit making ice, clicking noise coming from lower rear of appliance
If this happens to you the first thing I would do is shut off the freezer and, using a hair dryer, melt the ice in the ice maker and heat up the water inlet to make sure it is not froze up. Turn the freezer back on and wait to see if that cures the problem. If not, order the new water inlet valve and follow the simple instructions in the video provided on the PartSelect website. I have never have a more pleasant experience with any parts/repair service than I did with PartSelect. After ordering that part it came within the time they stated and their help with the install was great. Also helpful were the other customers talking about their problems and solutions. Thanks to PartSelect I now have Ice and a happy wife. Happy wife--happy life.

Quite making ice
The new inlet valve came with pisco connectors so had to cut the end of the tubes off. Before doing this I marked all the tubes to make sure they were replaced in the correct order. The pisco connectors are great to use and very quick. The total install time was about 20 to 30 minutes. While you have the back of the frig off make sure you vaccuum the fan and coils. It was making ice in less than 20 minutes.

watched the youtube video from PartsSelect and was able to remove old water inlet valve easily and install new one with little effort. The hoses on my refrigerator were a bit different than shown in video, but I was able to modify them and it's working just fine now. Thank you PartsSelect !

Replaced Water Inlet Valve
All instructions included on this site are good. I would add only one thing to them. When removing the 4 water lines from the old unit be sure to pull up on the white rings while you pull down on the water lines. All else is a snap.

Fridge was freezing items & freezer was not freezing items
It was simple... After paying $280 for a repair man to come out and install some unnecessary part to the fridge when I told him "everything on the Internet points to a thermostat repair." He disagreed, fixed the fridge and said the freezer would work more efficiently now. It didn't, so I bought a new fridge/freezer, put the old one in the basement. I ordered the thermostat (under $20), put it in, and now (knock on wood), works great and I have a beer fridge for the man cave

Refrigerator door made popping sound when opening or closing
Removed the door's top hinge support by removing two hex bolts. Lifted the door off of the bottom hinge and laid it out on the dining table. Removed the old hinge bearing from the bottom of the door and replaced it with new. Installed the door and refastened the top hinge bracket. Note that there are two hinge bearings that mesh with each other - one is attached to the bottom of the door itself and the other attached to a bracket on the cabinet (part 13). As long as you have taken the door off, replace both hinge bearings. You may need some help from a second person to hold the door in place when the top hinge bracket is removed.

Door would not stay closed, made a grinding noise at bottom when closing.
1. Remove all food and drinks from door. 2. Remove all shelves from door. 3. Remove plastic hinge cover on top by unscrewing one phillips head screw. 4. Remove hinge by unbolting two bolts with a socket wrench. 5. Hold on to the door when you get the last bolt out! 6. Lift off the top hinge. 7. Lift the door off the bottom hinge. 8. Lay the door gently on the floor. 9. Remove broken hinge bearing from bottom of door with needlenose pliers. 10. Insert new hinge bearing. 11. Broken Water Dispenser Actuator
watched youtube video on this repair that helped a lot.Remove tray and front plate - gently pull out ribbon wire that connects to front plate.I warn you not to screw back plastic pieces too tight - I broke some plastic that I had to glue back. I did job without removing water tube from mechanism - it pulled out just enough to reach screws holding actuator - also it is a bit difficult to push back ribbon wire that connects into front plate. test before screwing mechanism back -ribbon wire must be reattached to test
