Oven didn't work properly - stopped preheating, the started on its own when turned off
The part is not an exact replacement for the original. But it does fit perfectly. The electric connections are in different places, but they are marked (and so was the original), so that was easy enough. Part has a different look compared to original, but once installed, it is fine. Hardest part was figuring out how to take apart the

The GE gas range will start on its own every now and then even though it had been turned off.
For model number JGBP30BEW1WH
Hi Charles,
Thank you for your question. If your GE oven is turning on by itself, there may be an issue with the oven thermostat or sensor. The knob is attached to the shaft connected to the oven thermostat. A contact inside the thermostat may possibly be telling the oven to turn on. you will need to check it with a multimeter. When testing the sensor with a multimeter, the sensor should be tested at room temperature and it should be unplugged from the oven. You will need to measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the thermostat/sensor connector. Replace the oven sensor if the reading is less than 900 Ohms or more than 1200 Ohms. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

For model number rgb745bea2ad
Hello Debby, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, we would recommend checking the door micro switch for continuity. If this does not help, you may need to replace the electronic control board, part number PS953671. Glad to be of assistance!
