There is a black plastic piece that appears to be coming from the bottom of my dishwasher door - insulation protector? How do i take the door off to pull back up or would it be safe to just cut it off ? What is it's purpose? Thank you in advance !!
For model number GDT550HGD0BB
Hi Julie,
Thank you for your question. I would suggest keeping the part. It is pretty easy to just push it back into place. When you open your door, there are screws all around the edges. Unscrew your back panel from your front panel and you should be able to push your foam back into place. Good luck with your repair.

The soap compartment never opens during the cleaning cycle, to release the soap. What part should I replace to make it work?
For model number GDT550HSD1SS
Hello Maya, Thank you for the question. In most cases the Motor for the Dispenser is defective and will need to be replaced. The motor is only sold as part of the Dispenser PartSelect Number PS12295245. Hope this helps!
