Will the door assembly need to be removed to replace this lower seal
For model number SHE7PT55UC/07FD950900221
Hi Brooke, thank you for reaching out. To install the lower seal, you need to remove the door assembly. Here are some general instructions that will help you to install the door seal: First, unplug the power and disconnect the water line. Carefully, pull the dishwasher out of its cabinet by removing the screws. Pull the dishwasher halfway out, so you can have access to the hinges. Remove the hinges from both sides of the dishwasher. Open the complete door and remove screws from behind to remove the front panel. Remove the front panel by pushing it forward. Remove the remaining screws and remove the door. Pull out the old door seal and install the new one. We hope this information is useful!

My dishwasher is 6.5 years old. The black rubber seal at the bottom of the door has cracked and is hanging down. There is no water leaking from it. Does it really need to replaced?
Thank you.
For model number SHXM78W52N
Hi John, thank you for your question! Yes, you will need to replace it. It seals the gap between the opening to the dishwasher tub and the outer edge of the door. We hope that helps!
