Hi Karen, Thank you for your question. The defrost thermostat is located with the evaporator coils behind the panel in the freezer section. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I just replaced the evap fan in my fridge because it was seized, and not getting cold. Now the cabinet is constantly frozen. Is this a part i should look to diagnose?

Hi Rick, Thank you for your question. It could be your defrost thermostat that is the issue however I would actually suggest that you take a look at your temperature sensor first. It may be that part has also failed. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

my ge fridge is frezzing my food vegstables tray i already replace the fan motor still freezing up , also my ice maker not making ice and no water coming out with a new filter been replace any ideas?
For model number PFE28PSKSS

Hello Jose, thank you for reaching out. The thermistor monitors the air temperature and sends the temperature reading to the control board. The control board then regulates power to the compressor and evaporator fan based on the thermistor readings. If the thermistor is defective, the compressor and evaporator fan may run too frequently. As a result, the refrigerator will be too cool. We recommend you replace the temperature sensor, part number PS304103. similarly, water issue is caused by the faulty water inlet valve. Replace the water inlet valve, part number PS6011774. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

Fridge is warm and the freezer works fine. It's either the fridge temperature sensor or the thermostat. I will replace both. Where specifically are they located in the fridge? Behind the coil?
For model number DFE29JSDASS
PartSelect logo
Hello Robert, Thank you for the question. If you enter the sensor part number PS304103 into the site search box it will come up with a How to Video that will show its location. The Thermostat is located on the back of the appliance with the Defrost Heater and coils. We hope this helps.
